Wait...perhaps I judged too soon.
Maybe "the University of Ohio State" was actually intended to be funny. Perhaps it was just another chance for him to fuck with the media one more time. He calls a big press conference in his high school...the national media is watching like a pack of hungry dogs...and the kid opens his mouth and says, "The University of...."
Now EVERYONE probably thought that the next word was going to be "Michigan", but no...Pryor belts out "Ohio State!" See, it could have just been another curve ball thrown into the mix of this media frenzy clusterfuck that has been following him for the past several months. Kind of like a "haha, gotcha again" kind of thing.
I'm pretty sure I'm wrong, but maybe the kid is kind of clever.

Ore will not play for Hokies next year
BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP)—Star running back Branden Ore will not play for Virginia Tech next year, a decision reached after meetings with coach Frank Beamer.
Ore would have been a redshirt senior. On his Facebook profile he said he was “making life decisions right now.”
“We have decided that it would be best for Branden to pursue other opportunities,” Beamer said in a statement Wednesday. “Branden has had many great moments here at Virginia Tech, and we wish him well.”
Beamer said he would have no further comment. Sports information officials did not immediately return a phone message left by The Associated Press. An e-mail message left for Ore was not immediately returned, either.
In January, a federal jury convicted one of Ore’s friends of possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute. Prosecutors subpoenaed Ore, who was riding in a car with Tony Majette of Christiansburg in June 2006 when police stopped them and found two bags of drugs in the car. Ore was not charged.
Ore led the Hokies in rushing with 992 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was an all-Atlantic Coast Conference pick as a sophomore in 2006, rushing for 1,137 yards and 16 touchdowns.
This is probably for the best, at least for Tech it is, considering his off-field problems.
EDIT - I can confirm his Facebook profile actually says "making life decisions right now!!!"

Maybe with Pryor OSU can cut its average margin of defeat in BCS championship games down to 20 points.
You're a Michigan fan.
Sorry about that.
I'm not sure what Michigan has to do with OSU's last 2 completely embarrassing bowl defeats, but ok. It's understandable that you and the rest of Buckeye Nation would like to erase them from your memories.
