Can still (if I tried hard enough) beat Contra in just under 15 minutes on one life.

i just played that game not too long ago about 4am and drunk as all hell..

i think it took me 30 lives tho..

i remember being in great shape until the laser board

That sounds unbelievable. But if it's a legitimate claim, I congratulate you. That's one of the hardest games ever to play normally, without the Konami code's 30 extra guys. To not even die is pretty incredible.

I did it too when I was 8 years old. I consider it one of my greatest accomplishments ever. I could never beat the game nowadays.

I don't know about 15 minutes (which is extremely impressive) but I never thought Contra was that difficult, with or without the 30 lives.
