Maybe because that's the name of their race like english people are English and Scotish people are Scottish and... get the idea?

I'm not talking about the Pats, I'm talking about the Celtics. Actually, anyone know if the Celtics were named the Celtics BECAUSE they are a Boston team? I'm not into sports history so I have no idea, but it appears to be the reason for the name, and I've lived in and around Boston for close to 20 years, I've never known one Irish-American (or Irish person for that matter) who ever took offense at the name. I think they look at it with some amount of pride, especially when the Celtics rules Basketball.
