That game is so charming and sweet! Ness has always been my favourite character of the Super Smash series, so i had to try his game, and im now addicted. Its the kind of game that makes we say "they dont make those kind of games nowdays".

It really is such a fun game. Very unusual.

I wish Nintendo would bring it out on the VC or even bring a translation of Mother 3 to the rest of the world (not likely).

Isn't this the one that had the scrath n sniff ads in magazines? And that part in the game where you had to hold the actual game manual up to a mirror?

i knew this was going to be great when, at the very beginning, the game asked me for my favourite thing. i didn't know what to type, so i let the game pick for me, and it came up with ROCKIN. so i'm all "whaddaya know, that IS my favourite thing", and i spent the whole game with an attack called PSI ROCKIN.

the premise to the story is so generic, but it's the journey in-game that completely makes this game. it constantly surprises you with new locales, characters, etc, all awesome.

"Oh, a pop quiz! "A Beatles song, XXXterday. Can you fill in the blanks?"
-Yes
-No

it's so damned quirky and fun and psychedelic all the way through. cant think of many games in which felt compelled to talk to every damn npc because of what they had to say.
gameplay is awesome, too. no random encounters, enemies even approached or fled from you dependant of their level, and if you outrank them enough the battle screen won't even pop up. you just automatically win and get exp. grinding has never been so painless.

one of the best games ever made. it's shigesato itoi's only game next to a bass fishing one :). theres a thread for the good man so it's also worth noting that itoi is good friends with haruki murakami (they wrote a book of short stories together) and got a lot of ideas for this game from him.
