I find that lots of times I have random thoughts on sports but dont feel like digging through topics to find where to post them or multiple things to say and would rather stick them in one place. Lets see how this goes. I'll start with this:

"sticktoitiveness" is the stupidest sounding word, Tim Legler loves it.

Whats with people saying a player is out with "a knee" or "an ankle". Maybe people are interested in what the fucking is wrong with the body part. Is something torn, bruised, sprained, broken? What the fuck. Helps to guage the severity of the injury.

Joe Morgan, thanks for letting me know that when you strike out a lot you arent putting the ball in play, and that when you arent putting the ball in play you aren't going to get many hits.

I think my biggest pet peeve right now is when people stick "A" or "an" in front of a players or teams name to try and sound smarter. For example, "To stop the 76-ers you have to stop a Lou Williams from scoring off the bench or an Andre Miller from getting into the lane". "To beat the Cavs you have to make a LeBron James shoot jumpers". drives me up a fucking wall.

Can analysts and writers please stop calling Kobe the "best all around" player in the league? He is arguably the best scorer in the league. He is a great, albeit overrated, defensive player. Is he a great passer? His career assist total of 4.6 tells me no. Is he a great rebounder? 5.3 career tells me no.

What a fucking game 1 between the suns and spurs.

How come you never hear Tim Duncan mentioned when they talk about the best players in the NBA. The guy is unbelievable.

If you double against the Spurs you are in trouble. They seem to always find the open man out of a double.

I know a lot of people don't like him because he's "boring" and whiny. He's still easily the best PF ever.

I don't know who you listen to, he's a two time MVP and he's been a first team all NBA guy (and all NBA defensive team) a bunch of times. People aren't talking about him THIS year in that way because his production has dropped off a little compared to years past.

Actually 19.3 and 11.3 is right on par with what he has averaged over the last 4 seasons and just under his career averages of 21.6 and 11.8.

his PER of 24.41 was the second lowest of the last 6 years...and below 26 for only the second time over that period. The dropoff has been slight, but its there. Additionally, his teammates (Parker and Ginobili) have raised their games and are getting more recognition.

Especially Ginobili. Not a big Parker fan

Probably they would stop talking about him, but since he's in Los Angeles and he's a LAKER. they got to praise him.

And other's from the smaller market teams, don't even get recognized or they even get forgotten.

I just had a random thought about Hank Steinbrenner: hes a giant asshole. go ahead and make Joba a starter, and when that "100mph fastball" tops out at 89 after the 5th inning, then run your fat daddy-wannabe mouth some more.

heres hoping the Yanks blow big leads in the 8th inning for every single start Joba makes this year. that would be the greatest poetic justice in the universe!

Why doesn't the NFL have a rookie salary cap?

Why the fuck did Chuck Dolan allow his recovering alky/drug addict son to run MSG?

Why can't you trade draft picks in MLB...but you can in every other sport?

what would the NHL be like if they simply got rid of the offsides rule?

How does Fran Healy continue to be employed by the MSG Network?

Does Vince McMahon walk with that ridiculous, arrogant strut in real life?

How many NY Rangers ice dancers were harassed by Isiah?

Sometimes I think these analysts are pushed to promote certain guys. It's nuts. My favorite is how they talk about Kobe "always guarding the best player on the other team". Me and my buddy were talking about this yesterday. Does he guard Dwight Howard? Kevin Garnett? No an No, therefore he does not always guard the other teams best player. My favorite is that during majority of the game yesterday he was guarding Linas Kleiza (who was 9-13 for 23 points against Kobe's "shutdown defense" by the way.) Is he the Nuggets best player?

I'm convinced that hockey is the best sport to watch in HD.

The NBA needs to cut the playoff series to 5 games until the conference finals. 2 months of playoff games is WAY too long.

Why did the NFL move the draft time to 3? That's just stupid.

Where's the love for Mo cheeks? The guy has done an insane job this year. I have a lot of friends who are NBA fans and i bet none of them can name 5 players on this Sixers team.

I hit 14 out of 15 fairways the other day while golfing and still shot a crappy 94. It's amazing how a game can be so relaxing and frustating at the same time.

I don't know about that, but I'm convinced hockey is the best sport to watch live.
