Reached The Super Bowl:

1.) Dallas Cowboys - 8 times

2.) Denver Broncos - 6 times

3.) Pittsburgh Steelers
Miami Dolphins
Washington Redskins
San Francisco 49ers
New England Patriots
Oakland/LA Raiders - 5 times

4.) Buffalo Bills
Minnesota Vikings
Green Bay Packers - 4 times

Most Super Bowls Won:

1.) San Francisco 49ers
Dallas Cowboys - 5 times

2.) Pittsburgh Steelers - 4 times

3.) Oakland/LA Raiders
Washington Redskins
Green Bay Packers
New England Patriots - 3 times

Looking at this list, I have to give mad props to the Denver Broncos, and in particular John Elway (5 super bowls). This is a pretty damn fine franchise and former quarterback. Think if he would have won all of those appearances!

Also, kudos to Dallas and the 49ers for being the uber franchises of the NFL.

Oh, I almost forgot! Pittsburgh still has more Super Bowl wins than the Patriots.

If he'd won them all then he'd be considered bar none the best QB ever. Instead you'll always here about Montana, Unitas, and Marino in the discussion of best QB ever.

But those wins were so long ago. All the players from that era are now pitching denture cleaners.

That may be.

But they still have one more!

That's such an empty comment. You know it don't you? Admit it, you get no joy from saying it. ;)

Yeah, I know.

Don't feel bad. There's always next year.

Actually, I do feel pretty decent about it though.

I did cheer for them against New York.

But now that they have won, that is enough!

On the stat post:

I guess I had forgotten how many times Miami made it. That is a franchise that needs renewal.

I can say this now that football season is over:

I like the Steelers. When I was a kid I used to watch them all the time. I had a Steelers mug.

Now, don't get me wrong - I'm a Pats fan all the way. The Steelers just aren't on my shit list.

Seriously now,

PJDoll has saved me from hating Boston! I actually like the Celtics quite a bit, and I was always indifferent or at least partial to the Pats until they started to regularly beat Pittsburgh. The Red Sox are okay.

For as much as bostonlou makes me hate everything about the entire New England Region, PJDoll makes me feel better about it!

*appreciates*

We also boast Lizzie Borden. You can't hate that.

And I can't find any reason to hate Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, or Nantucket either.

I love the lighthouses on the cape!

But I digress from my own thread.....

Dallas is still the team of the NFL. Tom Landry was pretty damn good wasn't he!

I sometimes go to the Isles of Shoals  They have a lighthouse. It's very close to me.

Yes, Tom Landry was pretty damn good, that son of a bitch. (Dallas is on my shit list)

She has them listed as having reached the Super Bowl 5 times.

86, 96, 01, 03, and 04 to be precise ;)
