Just got section 1, Tool tickets for DC. Pretty fucking happy with that. AIC is also coming to the area.

Awesome, I have yet to see threads about either of these bands in all my years on RM.

All the Tool threads died within about two weeks of the release of their latest album. Draw your own conclusions.

Well my dear Watson this is due to the fact that only the true underground fans can really appreciate the music of Tool, most people are just not mature enough to understand their music you see, like me for example.

I fully understand Tool's music. One of their songs incorporates Fibonacci, who is a character on the Fox hit show 'Prison Break'. The song Prison Song is also about that very same show.

Hey bro don't let the vets on the board kill your enthusiasm. I'm going to see tool in Hawiia in less than 2 weeks and can't wait. AIC is good but it feels a little like a tribute show.

Probably the best band ever. I love the hate they get. It contributes to their greatness. No one else comes close to these guys....and people know that.

They used to be my number one band right next to Pearl Jam back in 1993 when I first saw both bands live (Pearl Jam in July, Tool in August). But then they still made 'songs'. I still like them a lot, but I liked them better back then.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

Tool still makes songs. They're just too good for the average listener.

Agreed, I simply can't get enough of the last 2 albums. They've been in heavy rotation for about 12 months straight.

No, I'm not the (?) average listener, they are just less my taste. That's a difference. I don't like symfo (constructions), I do like good lyrics and music (songs). Opiate is still my favorite. It's so easy to dismiss other opinions as being from 'the average user'. Weak!

groetjes,
Mirella :) (I saw Tool throughout the years, multiple times in all kinds of situations. Once for free on a church square on a Sunday :))

Yes, Tool is so avante-garde that their compositions are beyond the range of the average listener.
