Anybody else here agree with this statement? Their mainstream stuff is absolutely terrible and their indie bands are just average/boring/bad. Discuss.......

Canada's made no more-or-less bad music than anywhere else. They didn't invent Britney-fucking-Spears. They did invent great stuff like Rush, I Mother Earth, The Tea Party and Arcade Fire.

Rush is dreadful and lets face it, Arcade Fire arent bad but they are really not all they are cracked up to be either.

i can agree with the geddy lee stance. but you shouldn't judge this kind of band solely on its singer.

I saw the Violent Femmes at a festival outside of Melbourne for New Year's Eve 1999-->2000. One of the worst gigs ever. The singer had a big tantrum onstage and threatened to walk off because people were throwin' plastic cups at them. Why did they do that? Because the band sucked and the singer was an obnoxious twat.
