saw the previews for it the other day, it looks really great, as does Sin City (though i have no idea what sin city is really about). Sin City has a "look" to it that just makes it incredible. its mostly black and white
man, i don't know if i'm just an elitist prick or what, but this movie looks absolutely terrible to me. let me know how it is once you guys see it.

Don't see it. I don't want you pooping up my thread with your negativity when I see it and it turns out to be good.
sorry, i'll keep everything to sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows from now on.

You better.
just out of curiosity, if i were looking forward to seeing this movie, and then i saw it and was nonplussed, would i still need to refrain from pooping up your thread with my negativity?

I saw another thread where someone said it stays true to the Hellblazer comic, but I'm just really hesitant when it comes to anything featuring Keanu, because I just really think he's a horrible actor. I don't know if I'll go see this on the big screen or wait for it to come to PPV or something, simply because of Keanu being in it. If he weren't in it, I'd go see it. Marvel adaptations to film, Daredevil, Hulk and probably Fantastic Four excluded, seem to be done very well (they are typically cast well and stick to the comic book character's personalities vs DC adaptations which Warner Brothers sucks at when it comes to the main character). I dunno.

I saw a trailer for Sin City before the Aviator. I've never seen anything like that...it actually looks like you're watching a comic book.
As for Constantine, I'm not so sure. I may wait to see what the reviews say about it.

wow...no love for this movie eh?
well
when i say the best "hollywood" adaptation, ive resigned to the fact that , based on past comicbook adaptations, liberties had to be taken at one point or the other, esp for ongoing series like Hellblazer. its simply wayy too much to tell in a frame work of 2 + hours, so in that sense, i dont think any hollywood movie can do justice at all.
the two other Alan Moore works that were made into films ( From Hell & LXG) were dissapointing IMHO. I rate constantine a notch higher than those two.
In fact, i did not have any expectations at all for this one and came out from it pleasantly surprised.

This is one of those toss up movies where it can be good or bad. And the problem is that you can't really tell from the previews. Actually seeing the movie might be the only way to figure it out. There seem to be a lot of special effect shots in the movie, and in some cases that can hurt a movie. We'll have to see what happens, I guess.
