Long time lurker but I have finally decided to register and post. I consider myself a bit of a Pearl Jam historian and collector and I have a serious question for my first post. Does anyone have any information on stone's sissy tshirt famous from SNL appearance and the Evenflow video? It seems to be an important part of Pearl Jam lore but no one i've talked to has much information for me. Image

What is SISSY anyway? My close friend and Pearl Jam mentor thinks it is some sort of athletic gear or apparel. Underneath "SISSY", the shirt seems to read "Choice of Champions". Where could I find one of these t-shirts to add to my collection?

Yes I agree this is a very important topic. We should all know the origin of the "Sissy" shirt. It would be a good topic for someone to write a small dissertation on.

It's a joke t-shirt, a parody. There was a brand of athletic clothing called Stussy. One of their popular t-shirts said Stussy in the style font that's on Stone's t-shirt.

here's a clue:

STONE
IS
GAY.

a sissy is a guy who appears to be weaker than other guys, hence him being gay. that is all

thanks to all who contributed their thoughts. the parody of "everlast" seems to be the most plausible scenario

Yeah I like the Everlast one too. It looks just like that logo. I've never heard of Stussy. Does anyone even know what Stussy is?

No, this is not a joke. I try to learn at least a couple of things about Pearl Jam daily so I decided to get the faithful fan's opinion on the infamous SISSY shirt. Generally I approach the topic Pearl Jam from an academic point-of-view but sometimes I like to get on these "forums" to read fan opinions and topics of discussion and things of that nature. I was reluctant to join a "forum" because I am old-fashioned and find that many times they are primarily arenas in which to trade childish gossip and one-up others with knowledge of the band. But I look forward to using this as a medium in which to discuss Pearl Jam intellectually

Just google "stussy clothing". It's changed a lot in 15+ years but it's still there.

if that is the case you should check out the website twofeetthick, which is an excellent source of this kind of trivia

Does anyone rememeber the rumor that cryptically in the Stussy logo appeared "I am gay". I wish I could find a picture of this. Maybe it's all coming together!
