NHL Players Season One Tournament:
Spoiler: show
Official Rules:
-If you want to team with another RM you can do so, or you can go at it by yourself.
-Make sure that you click on 'Subscribe to topic' this will let you know if a new post is made in this thread (especially do this when we start up the Draft thread).
-First pick will happen on the Monday (following the last person to fill the Sign-Up).
-12 Hour Draft Pick Deadline.
-Snake Style Draft Order (Rnd 1: 1-16, Rnd 2: 16-1, Rnd 3: 1-16, etc. etc.).
-Please PM me if you see your turn coming up soon, but you don't think you'll be on.
-PENALTY - If you miss your designated draft time and go over the deadline, the draft moves on, you'll be able to make-up your "missed" pick whenever, but the following round your draft order spot gets dropped to the bottom of that round.
-Draft Format: 1. Player 2. Positions 3. Years Played
-The objective is to pick the best team possible using NHL players. The players may be active or retired. (http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page ... SearchPage)
-Teams will be formed in the standard way of a hockey team (G D D, LW, RW, C, EXTRA ATTACKER), you can draft any position during any of the first 5 rounds, the 6th round will be the Extra Attacker round, in which you can pick a 2nd player of a position you've already picked.
-This isn't going to be normal single elimination tournament, this isn't going to be a pool table tournament either, this is going to be a double elimination tournament.

New Added Rules
-Stanley Cup Holder of Season 1, Wes C. Addle, gets to Franchise 2 players from his team.
-All other teams, get to Franchise 1 player from there current roster.
-We will be leaving the Western Conference/Eastern Conference Format, heading back to Clarence S. Campbell Conference (Smythe Division, Norris Division) and Prince of Wales Conference (Adams Division, Patrick Division)
-Lottery for Season 2 Draft, will be determined by last season's standings.
-Expansion Draft, will be run with any of the new competitors that join up just for Season 2. And we'll have 1 round to get them a Franchise Tagged player, from the players on the teams that aren't going to be around from season 1 (i.e. warehouse, LostDog1079, SmilinSkullRing, EllisEamos. and southp's teams) which is, if I did my math correctly 35 players eligible for the expansion draft, fighting for at this moment 5 Franchise Tags, for 5 new teams.[/b][/i]

i dont think this will be like the NBA one because in that whoever gets Jordan wins, here with the NHL there is a lot of variety of good players, its a thin line.

We're not drafting yet, the draft or hasn't been picked yet (random.org).

Just a signup sheet right now.

Considering the NHL thread is longer than the NBA season+playoffs+Celtics thread combined...

i've never done one of these things.

how is a winner determined?

let's say i somehow had, gretzky, mario, jagr, leetch, lindstrum and brodeur... who's to say that a team of hull, messier, neely, stevens, bourque and roy isn't better?

i know these 2 teams are rediculous, but is it just a vote on each match-up and that's all?

Well I suppose unless you had a simulator and/or a time machine that's pretty much the only way. :P
