ask Jimmy Buttfuck Dolan

you fire the most ignorant, franchise destroying person in sports history, and you finally after 8 years breathe a tiny bit of life into your fanbase....

and then you go replace him with a coach who will do the unimagineable and make it 100 times WORSE

Mike D'Antoni, new coach of the Knicks!!

a guy who basically got fired because he 1. refused to coach defense of ANY kind and 2. refused to get tough with his star players

THATS THE FUCKING CHOICE???

Dear Donnie Walsh, Jim Dolan, Steve Mills,

you can all suck shit and die. fuck you all. fuck your team. go to hell. Enclosed in this note are the last dying microscopic specs of my knicks fandom. may you all choke on it and die slowly.

Love and kisses,

Koufax

I don't want to twist the knife, but the thought of Curry and Randolph in a Suns-style offense makes me smile. Will there be enough oxygen left in the building for the fans?

Great move for him though, replacing Isiah is like following Carrot Top at a comedy club. Back to back 35-win seasons will get him a huge extension.

well lets see, last years team was one of the worst defensive teams in the universe

this new coach not only doesnt coach defense, he REFUSES to coach it

how many points are they going to give up next year?

I personally hope its 170 per game

I'm actually looking forward to D'Antoni's arrogance vs. the NY Media. :haha:

I think he's in for quite a surprise.

Seriously, though... I can see this as a move to make the team more exciting to watch and get into the playoffs, but obviously they're not going to win it all with this guy. At least getting into the playoffs and entertaining basketball is better than what that franchise has experienced over the last few years.

At any rate, thanks for taking him off our hands. :P

I love the expression on Dantoni's face... it's like he's as confused as everybody else as to why they hired him.

Koufax...I don't love the move but I don't hate it either. I'd certainly rather have this guy than Mark Jackson. I have a feeling some of the stiffs on this team will be on their way out of town as soon as Walsh can find somebody to take them off his hands...

his deal is up after this year so he's gone next summer...assuming they don't buy him out. He's a non-factor in all of this.

It's better than Isaih, right?

In all seriousness, bad fit. He would have been much better off going to Chicago. What it comes down to is $, whether its players or coaches, they don't look at what is a good fit, it comes down to who is going to pay the most.

I cant support it man. Hes known for 2 things

1. he refuses to coach defense

2. hes soft as shit with his players

Thats a DEADLY combo in NY. he may build a nice little run and gun offense over time and what, win 45-46 games and compete for a 6-7-8 seed. big deal. without defense they'll get bounced in the first round and Dolan will pat himself on the back and knicks fans can all go screw

Im not saying Jax was the best choice, but at least he could have grown into a head coach while babysitting this collection of crap for 3 years until the "great free agency of 2010" began

all the stuff Im hearing about this guy is cringe worthy. that he doesnt like or want to coach defense, that hes not the right kind of guy to deal with NY media, and all the "unamed rival GMs" and the like quoted in every paper saying they cant understand this move and how bad they think it is

maybe he makes me eat my words, I hope so. but Im not expecting it at all

I completely understand all of that. There's few franchises in the HISTORY of organized sports that deserve the benefit of the doubt less than the Knicks...but I'm willing to give this guy a chance.

To be honest, I really don't know enough about him to really kill or love the move right now. The guy coached in Europe for a few years...did he coach the same exact way over there? And it's not like the Knicks don't have anybody who can flourish in a running style. Crawford, Lee, Nate, Chandler and Balkman might put up some nice numbers (and increase their trade value) under this guy.

That's great. Addition by subtraction.

RT at this point weve been beaten down so much they could say they just cloned Bill Russell and an HIV-less Magic Johnson and signed them both and Id still think the absolute worst.

Jimmy Dolan has stolen my soul

I completely forgot about this. Add that to my comment above about D'Antoni vs the NY media.

Just for fun, here are a couple of my favorite Mike D'Antoni quotes:

Quote:
“I’m not a situational kind of a guy,” D’Antoni said nicely, but matter-of-factly. “Either, you have minutes and you play, or you don’t. I don’t believe in matching up with somebody else.”

Quote:
Every move, there's a counter move. Raja Bell has 24 minutes (of playing time Monday). Go see if he's OK with that. It's just not as easy as you play and you don't. You can't just come in and do that to people.
