Traded from Seattle to the Rangers...end result...Seattle gets good / Rangers get bad because they had to lose some good names to pay for A-Rod. Sent packing to the Yanks, who were then beat by the Bosox who originaly tried to sign him. A-Rod may be standing in the unemployment line next season knowing Stienbrenner.

actually, the Rangers and Mariners have been cursed, neither have won a world series since trading A-Rod.

isnt his contract guarenteed? that would be a kick ass job if he did get cut and was still able to collect 25 mill a year

Yes, he'll collect that money unless he retires.

Arod will not be unemployed next year. Remember the Redsox didn't win a WS since not getting him either (yet anyway)

Today is a sad sad day across Yankee Nation. In fact, this was a sad season over all. Think about it, the one play this year will be remembered for, was A-Rod trying to slap a spider of Aroyo's glove. Which is even funnier, is he probably got paid like $250,000 for that at bat....

i hate the yankees with everyhing inside of me.

you'd think that steinbrenner would realize there is a difference between a team full of good players and a good team.
this is all his fault. in today's game you cant buy championships like you could in the past.

eat it georgey.

What was the salary of the Yankees this year?
What was the salary of the Red Sox this year?

What was the salary of the next highest team?

Yeah there is not much difference between the Yankees and the Red Sox. Stupidest post today.

Say all you want about the Yankees high payroll but please look in the mirror. Boston is next in line with high priced players. you are talking like Boston won something more than the ALCS so far this year.

fuck you. its HOW you spend the money, moron. yes the red sox spend a lot, but they spend it on building a team, a cohesive goup of guys - not a bunh of over priced egos. get over yourself.

Easy on the "fuck yous".
It's extremely difficult to accuse the Yankees of buying a championship when every move Boston makes is to combat something the Yankees have done. Don't forget how close Boston was to getting ARod and how badly Sox fans wanted him there. Manny Ramirez makes 20 freaking million dollars a year, speaking of overpriced players..

The Redsox have been spending money for quite a few years now yet they have only advanced to the WS once. You are ripping the Yankees because they spent money but they went to 6 of the last 9 WS. yes the redsox have a nice cohesive team (finally) but they haven't won anything yet

did the red sox make moves in response to the yankees? or what it the other way around? either way, my point is that the group of guys on the red sox are more of a TEAM. they compliment each other well. the yankees are not a TEAM - similiar to the Lakers this past year.

and sorry for the fuck you - but i hate when people on here get judgemental like they determine what post is stupid or not.

you are absolutely right, they havent won shit yet. except the AL Pennant.
am i ripping the yankees? i guess. all i know is that they blew a 3-0 lead against their hated rivals, and i will enjoy every damn minute of it.

well in all fairness, this is a stupid post you made.

the yankees arent a team? ummm then whats that say about the sox that the didnt win the division this year? just because boston doesnt have the deep pockets of the yanks, dont think for even a second, that they wouldnt spend the money if they could

and just because you dont agree with my opinion, doesn't make my post or opinion stupid. jesus christ, can't people disagree around here w/ out being called stupid?? thought this board wasn't like that. guess i was wrong.
again its not about how much you spend, its how you spend it. nevermind...

That's all I have to say is that, with a $180 million payroll and the with Alex Rodriguez, Gary Sheffield, Derrik Jeter, Matsui, Posada, etc. on your team, there's no excuse not to win the world series, let alone the pennant. Like someone said earlier, it's not how much you spend, but how you spend it.

By the way, I'm not excusing the Red Sox payroll, but the difference between the two teams' payrolls is $50 million. That's two A-Rods. Point being, that is a huge difference which just goes to show how much the Yankees are willing to overpay for a world series. Next year it will be even worse with Carlos Beltran.
