Least you have the internets. I did 6pm to 6am shift in a small security box outside London with no tv, no computer and little to amuse myself apart from writing, reading and scratching myself. And when I did the day shift when the uni was out (no people coming through) I used to sellotape bees to the wall for amusement. Beat that.

I used to but I loved it. I worked in this fantastic grand house as a carer. I worked by myself so as long as I didn't leave someone dying on the floor, I could pretty much do what I wanted.

I might take this new position that will probably be overnight hours. I'm mainly taking it because it's 22 miles closer to home, and a little more pay.
Apparently it's non stop work, so I don't think I'll be too bored.

i used to for a few months. not fun.

When I used to turn tricks I worked mainly evenings and early mornings, but that was a few years ago. I wasn't lonely. Lot's of interesting people always coming and going.

yea it isnt. i used to respect newsday but after working there and seeing how they run things. my outlook has totally changed

i worked midnights at sam's club. and i've got to say it's the best time to work wholesale/retail. cause there are no customers. it did suck going home in the morning trying to sleep though as there'd be people outside with their lawnmowers and other assorted noises throughout the day that you normally don't think about unless you're trying to sleep and it's keeping you up

i do overnights from time to time
i like them
i get much more work done then i do during the day

I work them on the weekends and I don't mind at all.

I know, it was not a great time in my life really. The security box was yellow, which attracted the bees...and for the record I wasn't phased about the cruelty as I hate the f'ers after being stung as a child.

I recommend that unless you have insane self discipline to never do this. I worked 3 months with every third week being a night shift and it messed up my sleeping habbits for like a year after, actually they have pretty much been weird ever since. But it sucks and I would think I saw stuff in the dark hallways where no one worked, which was actually probably real but that's dealt with.

i've been doing it for bout 8 months now and its totally fucked with my sleeping habits. im addicted to pepsi and amp energy drink. its fucked with me so much im going to sleep on the weekends at 5am-6am. god i wish i knew someone who was up so they could call me, im bored as fuck while on break, meh.

I know what you mean, I always had nasty insomnia during the summers, but a couple of summers ago I wasn't falling asleep until around 6 am every day.

no one should ever work this shift.god i wanna go home haha
