I'm posting this more out of humor than anything else.

Quote:
The media wing of al-Qaida says Osama bin Laden soon will issue a new message addressed to the Islamic world.

There is a media wing? When you attend al-qaida university, how do they decide which division you end up in? "Ok, let's see...Jim...you are going to become a suicide bomber...Alex...we are putting you in charge of the website."

Quote:
Al-Sahab posted a banner Sunday on a militant Web site known for carrying the terror network's messages. It said a "powerful speech to the Islamic nation," will be issued soon.

When I first read this - immediately I wondered: if this website had google adwords - what ads would they show on this page? That has got to be tough matching advertisers with visitors to the al queda website.

Quote:
The announcement comes after a message from Bin Laden on Friday marking the 60th anniversary of Israel's foundation in which he vowed to continue his struggle against the Jewish state.

Messages typically appear within 72 hours of being announced.

Nothing funny about this part.

That was some funny shit. My real friends were laughing hysterically. Fuck you guys.

I added a little bit to it. Jim: "Hey, I know HTML....and Java!"

:D

I'm putting that first bit about al queda university into my non existant standup routine. The google adword part didn't make my real life friends laugh as much though I could imagine the ads being for things like:

BUYIUDSONLINE.COM
KILLTHEINFEDELS.ORG
OBAMAFORPRESIDENT.COM :haha: (we know hamas supports him, right?)

It's TOO hard and it took me about 3 minutes to write that post. How can that be described as trying too hard?

IT WAS DAMN FUNNY!

Maybe my understanding is limited here, but I thought that initially, the Palestinian issue was secondary to US forces in Saudi Arabia and Arab governments not being sufficiently Islamic. Is talking up the Palestinian issue just an attempt to stay relevant, or was this actually important to Al Qaeda from day one? Additionally, the disparagement of Hezbollah, while understandable in the Shia vs. Sunni context is rather humorous. Al Qaeda has little to no activity in that area, and it would seem that Hezbollah is far more disposed to, and capable of 'assisting' the Palestinians.

This thread is not for actual discussion. You are only allowed to post if you are praising my witty banter.

That's exceedingly unfunny.
