Since we have the "John McCain is a dick" thread for the truly abhorrent things that he does, and is sure to do and say in teh future, I felt we needed a lighter, funnier thread for all of teh things that McCain and his people are going to do to demonstrate how completely out of touch with the modern world John McCain (and by extension the Republican Party establishment) is.

McCain Campaign: Comment Trolls Wanted

Wishing you could be a campaign surrogate, but don't have a national platform? Do you find blogging your own opinions tedious? Wish you could have someone tell you what to think during this political season? Well look no further than John McCain's new blog outreach!

That's right; the McCain camp wants to recruit online supporters and activists to serve as comment trolls. From their website:

Because not only does the campaign tell you on which blogs to comment -- Redstate for right-wingers, Daily Kos for progressives (sorry HuffPo fans, we didn't make the list) -- it will even tell you what to say! Just look at today's gem, entitled "Time For Solutions:"



You might be thinking, "What's in it for me?" As a matter of fact, for every comment the McCain verifies, you will awarded McCain Action Center. Which is important, because in Fantasy Land 2013, those things will replace the dollar as American currency.




The comments about this at kos are golden.

But he's so badass on Battlestar.

Probably.

Though he will most likely run against "young and naive". The winner will replace "dumb and dumber", who followed "lewd and lascivious".

So, how is your faith in the federal government these days?

I heard that McCain is going to try posting on 4chan to reconnect with the youth.

That blog was gay, stupid, and pointless.

There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences between the candidates. And we will argue about them, as we should. But it should remain an argument among friends; each of us struggling to hear our conscience, and heed its demands; each of us, despite our differences, united in our great cause, and respectful of the goodness in each other.

I dunno, I think I'm siding with LW on this. Is this really worth writing a blog about? Should there also be a blog about how campaign staffers are making hand written signs to pass out to provide the appearance of spontaniety. The horror and scandal of minor political manipulations.

For an out of touch guy, he wrote a quite good article about the whole corn thing.

"we'll stay in iraq as long as we have to" is the biggest mistake of his life.

I think the "old and out of touch" part refers to the fact that his people seem to think that this is a novel idea, and that the trolls won't immediately be called out.

See, that is the thing. Liberalism is easy. It is short sighted. So Barack softly whispers sweet nothings into your ear and you cum your pants. Saying that takes guts, it takes thought. Obama may not really be naive, but the mindless shee that are following him? They have not got the slightest clue about much of anything. Free healthcare, get out of Iraq, abortion empowers women. These are the types of things that lemmings run off of cliffs for.

Go ahead. Get out of Iraq. We will regret it ten years later after Barack has retired a rich man selling books and speeches.

Despite popular belief, Barack does not look to solve problems. He either seeks to run away from them, or put bandaids on them.

If he was sticking to that sentiment in the general election you'd be right. However, he said it during the primary, when each candidate was trying to out-hawk the other. McCain was pandering just as much as Obama. The fact that he started backing away from those statements as soon as he had the nomination wrapped up, and has actually offered a timetable for troop withdrawal (while during the primary he parroted the Bush "timetables help our enemies" shit) just proves it. He saying what people want to hear, just like Obama, Clinton and every other politician in the world.

i didnt say that pulling out of iraq improperly was the answer. it's just what the public wants to hear. and, despite popular belief, politicians do not give a fuck about you. they want to get elected and they will tell you whatever you want to hear in order for you to vote for them.

OK, it's official...I'm convinced you're secretly gay for Obama. You say the weirdest shit when it comes to this guy.

Thank God conservatives have taken the long-view on the environment!
