Well, there are 8 other people going, at least: http://www.last.fm/event/584443 I saw the Detroit Cobra's before at a festival, and they were awful. Have fun with X!

Detroit Cobras were actually pretty good. They brought the rock for a good solid hour.
X however was amazing. I couldn't believe how tight they were, and how great they sounded. The crowd was really great too. One of the most enjoyable shows I've ever been to.

X exploded onto the stage with "Your Phones Off The Hook" and continued to deliver a phenominally tight set for the next hour and a half. I couldn't believe how on the mark they all were, and how great their overall sound was. My ears hate me this morning (I stood up front the hole time on Zoom's side), but it was well worth it. So so glad I got to see these guys live. I really hope they come around again. They have such a great vibe/personality to them. When Exene first came on stage she looked like she didn't even want to be there. Then when she cracked that first smile, and starting wailing away I knew for sure I was at the right place. John Doe is a madman on the bass. A sweaty chaotic rock n' roll mess. The drummer, Mr. DJ Bonebrake looked like he was having a blast every moment I looked over at him. And Billy Zoom.....well he's something else. You could blindfold this guy and the show wouldn't change a bit. He makes everything look so easy. All he does the entire time is smile. Mostly at girls. It got to the point where it was actually a little creepy. He would just stare at you with a big cheese grin until you looked away. It was like watching the Joker without facepaint play the guitar. They had two encores, and during both breaks he would sneak into the crowd, and come up behind people with that crazy goofy smile still plastered on his face, stealing kisses from all the hot girls. At one point the band couldn't even find him for a couple minutes, and John is on stage going "We would like to play some more for you, but we need our guitar player. Billy, get back on stage man. Stop kissing the girls!" It was pretty hysterical actually. He came up behind this girl that was right in front of me. She looked at him all hesistant and said "You have kissed so many girls................ah what the the hell!" then planted one on his cheek. Eventually he got back on stage. Exene received a couple dozen roses from fans. Then a couple members of Detroit Cobras came out to rock with them on the final song of the night "World's A Mess, It's In My Kiss" They were very humble, and appreciative and it was all well deserved. The crowd was super great too. Possibly the best crowd I've ever watched a show with. Everyone was allowed to drink on the floor, which made it an even more kick ass experience. You wouldn't know half the people were drunk though. The only sort of "moshing" around occured during "Nausea" of all songs, and lasted into the next song or two then died down. Just a few people who got tired of standing still. It was overall one of the best concert experiences of my life.
The setlist, not in order, as far as I can remember. There were a couple songs that I didn't know.

I love how the crowd was really into the guitar hero one.
Welcome to relevance, X

X is one of the great bands ever. Their run of albums from Los Angeles to More Fun in the new world is as good as any other band. I haven't seen them since the '80's - but saw them 3 or 4 times back in the day. And yea - Zoom was Strange. That perma smile was something else.
