cb, was it chance or choice that the first statement is written as fact while the second is written as belief? i had a hard time choosing the first option because i don't know it for fact, but it is closest to what i would choose: "i believe there is something else or more".

i know i'm nitpicking, but that could be misleading.

I voted 'not sure' but really I should have voted for 'something else' because I don't believe in heaven or hell but I find it hard to imagine not existing in some form or another after I die. I guess I can't get my head around nothingness.

Well, my body will be burned and my ashes mixed into the soil used for growing pot plants. So my friends can get high off in the future. Good pot grown with the remains of my liver should make for a pretty potent combination

I chose i'm not sure. I tend to think that there's nothing more but recently my wife made me watch an episode of Oprah where she had this guy on http://www.brianweiss.com/

It was extremely interesting, especially the parts where a lady he had hypnotized was telling him facts about his deceased father and child. Some very interesting comments on the episode in general. A lot of what they talked about in regards to past life regression was about focusing the mind. I do believe that there's a lot more to unlock in our own minds and there may be some answers there. Their experiences reminded me of my own experiences with hallucinogens and how they really opened up my mind to a different "level".

that's merely a mistake in wording on my part. if the mods can fix it, i'd appreciate that. both are meant to start with "i believe ..."

same here. And, believing in something is easier than believing in nothing. It makes perfect sense sometimes, too.

Truth is there's nothing but decay after we die. There's no afterlife, get over the fairytales already.

I don't even think it's that complicated. In my opinion it's not really about an afterlife, more like you'll be living in a different body with a different soul (if there is such a thing) completely unaware because the alternative is that you simply don't exist after you die and I just can't comprehend that. How can you cease to exist? Surely everything in the universe would have to... not be there for me to cease to exist after I die?

well where are the heavens? sitting upon the clouds, strumming their harps? space shuttles have disproved that theory. unless "god" is on another planet that's light years away
