This sucks. I think he had a lot of good work left in him.

Seemed like a nice guy. Didn't like any of his movies, though.

What I especially loved about his acting was, especially for primarily being a director obviously, how so deftly he was able to go back and forth between grim drama and comedy. When he played Will's father back in the first few "good" years of Will & Grace, he was always awesome on there. And then you look at quality dramatic roles like Eyes Wide Shut and Michael Clayton. In his obituary I saw his quote that he liked to act from time to time to "spy on other directors".

As much as I loved a lot of his directorial work, Random Hearts was god awful, and I hate to say I had practically no interest in seeing what ended up being his last effort with The Interpreter, frankly it looked like a very run of the mill paranoid/political thriller.

And btw yet further proof of why most of the DMB fans over at Antsmarching.org are idiots and why I've since migrated over here more and more -- of course there were not one, but two different threads (started within about 7 hours of each other) both announcing Pollack's death, both using that beat to death, never was funny in the first place "(name) won't be down for breakfast" title :shake: :shake:
