Are there seriously Asian spas that will get you off? If so, has anyone done this? For real.
where i was at in ohio there was an asian massage parlor in a bad side of town that was notorious for "massages" but they got shut down. i'm sure they still do this at some places, but you'd have to be in the know first. i'm sure some of them are actually legit massage places and it'd be insulting to ask for something more

It is a weird thing, because like the website said, it's not unusual for it to happen. It's how you deal with it that can stop the problem or create more problems.
I am a massage therapist and have taken several classes form that school, their info is good. At my school, they told us basically the same thing, do anything but just ignore it. That's what gets scary, especially as a woman with a client you may or may not have seen before, you can't always be sure what their intent is.
There are tons of those Asian "spas" around, if you look in the phone book under massage, that will be mostly what you find. If you want a real massage, look for the word "therapeutic". I never advertise for this specific reason. It can be pretty creepy.

Never had anything like this happen but whenever I have shorts and a tshirt on......I just use the tuck method. Tuck your boner under the waistband of your pants or shorts and cover it up with your shirt. Use this method basically every morning when I wake up to go to the bathroom when somebody else is around.

Say you're getting a massage in a reputable spa
And you're naked under the sheet and you get an erection
Should you apologize to the woman?
Or just ignore it and try to think of Margaret Thatcher naked on a cold day?
Thoughts?
I was a receptionist while I was a freshman in College, and it was at a spa....that totally happened all the time and the girl masseuse got really used to it!! It's no big deal...awkward maybe...but no big deal!!

If I decide to go into massage therapy (still weighing my options), I would be personally offended if you didn't.
Okay, maybe not. But I can see me trying to do it on purpose just to make guys uncomfortable.
I guess just ignore it, maybe apologise nicely. . . it's a natural thing, it happens. Just don't be lude, draw attention to it or expect her to be impressed or anything.

looking back... she was working on my upper/inner thigh... so I guess that's my trigger spot
i definitely didn't do anything to scare her... nor did i have a bad intent ... i can understand how it would be a problem to get into that situation...
i think i was also thrown off because it was the first time the massage therapist got up on the table with me.... she had her arms wrapped through my legs and was walking on my back.... it felt amazing and yet i couldn't figure out what was going on... she said it was thai
