I've already discussed this with Mod Jeff (aka Ensign9) a couple weeks ago, I wanted to wait until the 4th season was officially done. The idea we decided was to start a thread here to get some ideas from everyone, nominations on which episodes to pick, since obviously we can't go with all of them. I'm still not entirely sure how many are possible on the site, but so far I'm think of at least 15 different options, and once we've got some solid ideas, Jeff will step in with his poll-making abilities and start the official voting.
Now then, I say first of all choices that are definitely a given have to be each season's premiere and finale (the ones that aired originally as a 2 hour block on the same night will count as one choice in the poll). To refesh your memory...
01x01/02 - Pilot 01x24 - Exodus Part 2 02x01 - Man Of Science, Man Of Faith 02x23/24 - Live Together, Die Alone 03x01 - A Tale Of Two Cities 03x22/23 - Through The Looking Glass 04x01 - The Beginning Of The End 04x13/14 - There's No Place Like Home Parts 2&3
And just to get the ball rolling, a couple other ones off the top of my head that I think would make for quality options...
01x05 - Walkabout 01x08 - Confidence Man 01x18 - Numbers 02x07 - The Other 48 Days 02x10 - The 23rd Psalm 02x17 - Lockdown 03x08 - Flashes Before Your Eyes 03x20 - The Man Behind The Curtain 04x05 - The Constant 04x09 - The Shape Of Things To Come 04x11 - Cabin Fever
Alright kids, get your nomination ideas in! And a special thanks to Ensign9 for accepting this idea and helping me to see it to fruition.

You listed pretty much all of mine. Here are some of all-time favorites
1X01 - Pilot - Probably one of, if not the best, pilots in television history. 1X05 - Walkabout - Established the show as one of the best character-driven dramas out there 2X23/24 -Live Together/Die Alone - My favorite season finale 4X05 - The Constant - One of the best hours in recent television history

i havent seen any of season 4 yet, but i watched seasons 1 - 3 in about 2 weeks. i just couldnt stop. any episodes with desmond or hurley were good. the only one that i thought was kind of lame was expose. the first time we see eko's backstory... that one rocked. i forget a lot of the names, sorry.
if i had to pick a favorite (and one that i remember the title of) id go with numbers.

Interesting thing with "Expose". Since you watched what you have so condensed, you likely haven't caught much of the interview material on the side with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. With the characters of Nikki and Paulo, the writers wanted to try an experiment of adding two new significant characters that of course had been there the entire time, we'd just never specifically followed them. Now, maybe the idea itself was inherently bad, but the characters themselves were universally hated pretty much right outta the chute, for being annoying, not interesting... take your pick. Damon and Carlton totally owned up later to the fact that it was an awful idea, to try and throw new characters at you after all that time and think you could grow to care about them at any sort of level of the originals. "Expose" was their way of dealing with them in one fell swoop.
Funny thing is though, if you take that episode entirely on its own merits, kinda separate it from the series if you can, I actually thought it was a good one, and so did a lot of others I've heard. I always liked referring to it as the Forrest Gump episode of Lost, that is, here you're now seeing all these different events from the past that you're already familiar with, but from an entirely new point of view (just one example, they being the first ones that in fact found the "?" hatch before any of the other Losties did, though of course they never shared that info).
Wow though, I'm kinda surprised you weren't motivated to watch at least the first couple episodes of this season after finishing off season 3, dying to know what immediately followed that.

Thinking back to the first season...I really hated Shannon. What an annoying character she was. Sayid should have known better.

Ya know, I'm kinda ashamed of myself, because she was my top hottie on the show so I kept overlooking what an immature and selfish bitch she was even though I knew it was wrong But I had suuuuuuuuuch a crush on her. I do however find it a little hard to believe that Sayid fell in love with her that quickly. Dude, you've been on an island at that point for a few weeks, and not a lot of options. Might not be quite the real thing
But her and Boone's first centric episode, "Hearts & Minds", that still stands as one of my top 5 favorite of the series, and not at all because I'm in love with Maggie Grace so much. The writing in that one was top notch, and they played such a total mindfuck on the audience, Locke drugging Boone to give him that "experience", that of course we all as an audience thought was totally real as well as it played out. Though I also have a soft spot for any episode where Smokezilla makes a decent sized appearance, I'm pretty sure that's my favorite single mystery in the entire show.

I need to finally get these DVD's. I think I know more about Lost from reading Lostpedia than from my actual memories of the episodes.
The online episodes in HD are pretty sweet (and free) if you go to ABC.com.

Okay since this had a decent little amount of initial activity but has since died down, I think I'll be approaching Jeff fairly soon to put together the official polling thread.
But for now figured I'd top this mentioning an ep I said in my first post, but wanna reiterate again to gauge the interest. Episode I'm talking about is "The Other 48 Days". I know how the Tailies were received overall, certainly less than spectacularly (most notably obviously AnaL, whom I'd venture to say was arguably the most hated character in at least the last 10 years of TV where it was someone introduced midway into the series, after you'd already come to know all the other protagonists) but looking at this episode just on its own merits, I actually really enjoyed it, and am wondering if it should indeed be included. For them to be able to tell a group story hitting a lot of necessary beat points but doing so in just one single show, I thought that pretty impressive.
And the thing that always bugged me about AnaL (well, one of ) was just how the other 815'ers would react to her. That she sorta became the defacto leader figure like Jack, except she used it to boss people out at will. Like, who the fuck do you think you are, lady?? Especially bugged in "Collision" I think it was where Michael and Jin actually let (even helped) her tie up Sayid. WTF dude?? At that point I'm saying, fuck you bitch, this guy is my friend, you wanna shoot me, go ahead and shoot me, but there's no way in fucking hell I'm gonna stand there and actually help you put him out of commission. Grow some fucking back bone, people.

Well, there is a particular idea I'll be taking to Jeff for the final poll that would make things more interesting and suspensful, but I have to find out if it's even possible to do first.

That story of Sayid and Shannon is without a doubt the low point of the whole series for me. You have Sayid, a guy who literally like 3 weeks ago found his old best friend and threw him under the bus, convincing him to be a suicide bomber, because he was so in love with his long lost love Nadia. Then he goes and pulls this crap. It wouldn't have been so bad if he had just done her. I mean she's hot. But he pulls this "I love her" crap. Cries over her. Says "do you know what it's like to lose someone you love?" in reference to Shannon, not Nadia. That really pissed me off. And made me dislike Sayid for a long time. It just seemed to derail any real emotional connection I could have had with the character.
