No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#A2Sec1
i kinda want the f'er to become president and for the argument to be turned and used to provide constitutional protections to individuals lets say in us territories on the sovereign nation of cuba... lets see them extend constitutional protections at gitmo
how about children born on us military bases in germany , korea, japan or even iraq???? Are those kids us citizens ?? natural born? i'm sure iraqi children have been born in the green zone or a mother has been in labor and rushed to a us military base. I'd like to see those iraqi families demand admittance into the us because their childrens are us citizens

From reading the article quickly I guess it is because his parents were both US citizens and he was born on a military installation. If it was some random Panama couple that had to be rushed to a US base for whatever reason the baby wouldn't have been considered a citizen of the US.

You haven't been banned yet? I don't think N&D should allow racist and bigoted posts from anyone let alone someone who decides to do it in their first post.

This doesn't require amendment. The legislation merely clarifies the meaning of an ambiguous term ("natural born citizen") in teh Constitution. This has been done countless times. It doesn't change a term of the Constitution.

Besides, what do you think happens when American citizens have a child while abroad, for whatever reason?
My friends were in Poland when their first child was born. He was assigned there for a year for his job. The child a US citizen (with certain caveats, none of which apply to McCain or my friends) born abroad is automatically a citizen. If the proper paperwork is filed with the state department before the child turns 18, the child is a "natural born" citizen.

provide examples
and generally , don't real cases test this expansion of a term or concept?
