i feel tacky wearing a sports watch when i am going out at night, but the digital display can be turned off leaving just the analog. for the majority of my day to day activity (swimming lessons, biking, exercising) i find that this watch is incredible. the casing is solid, and i have not had any trouble with it in the water. lots of cool features like a timer, stopwatch, alarm, etc. i do wish it had a heart rate monitor, but the machines here at the health club do it for you.

1. even though it takes two seconds to pull your cell phone out, open it up and look at the time...it only takes .093 seconds to raise your wrist and look at your watch. 2. if you aren't wearing pants with pockets, it's a burden to carry your cellphone. your watch is on your wrist. 3. battery life in watches>battery life in cell phones 4. i don't care how vain this makes me sound, but i see a person with a watch on and i think "responsible/punctual". this isn't always the case, but for things like job interviews and courting members of the opposite sex (same sex if that's what you're into) it is good to send off that "responsible" vibe.

A small, tasteful silver one my boyfriend got me for Christmas last year. Or, a big plastic black/pink/multi colored hearts plastic one I got at hot topic. ORRRR, an even BIGGER black leather cuff one with a Pearl Jam face. . . but the battery in that one died, need to replace it.
