So unless your a Laker or Celtics fan, this is the offseason... and a lot has gone on and will go on. New Coaches in NY and Phoenix (and other places).. Chicago and Detroit Coachless. Unfortunately ESPN doesnt have a coaching trade machine... but they do have one for players...
First Crazy offseason trade machine deal from ole' edzeppe (not in anyway endorsing this trade)
Pistons Obtain: Carmelo Anthony Drew Gooden Richard Jefferson Tyrus Thomas Thabo Sefolosa
Chicago Obtains Josh Boone Sean Williams Nene Hilario Antonio McDyess Trenton Hassell Linas Kleiza
Denver Obtains: JamesOn Curry Tayshaun Prince Chauncey Billups
New Jersey Obtains Rasheed Wallace Andres Nocioni Cedric Simmons
Pistons: The basis for the trade is the Pistons rumored(fake reported?) interest in Jefferson and Anthony. Threw in Thomas to give a big man. Gooden was to match salaries.... Gives them 4 starters for 4 starters, including 2 actual scorers.
Nets: Sheed gives the nets some inside ability, whose ability to shoot the 3 should open some room up for VC to drive, and Harris to create. Nocioni Gives a little toughness. Simmons was a salary dump.
Nuggets: A True PG to go with AI, plus Chauncey is from Denver. Prince gives them a better defensive presence, and can score without the ball in his hands. Curry was a salary throw in.
Chicago: nene- an athletic big man who has been a solid ball player in the league. McDyess for some veteran leadership... Kleiza as the wild card since they are giving up a young Player in Thomas. The rest was mainly salary throw in.

Where did you get this ESPN info? I can't find it anywhere on their NBA page?
They got Bulls offering Vinny Del Negro as head coach.
They also had the job being final with doug collins.
You've never played with the trade machine? Its not real trades being reported, rather a toy that allows you to try and make deals using all the salary cap rules.
for Instance
Detroit Gets Joe Johnson (atl) Chris Kaman (lac) Acie Law (atl) Tim Thomas and Brevin Knight (lac)- cap reasons
Atlanta Gets Rip Hamilton (det)- or Billiups. Antonio McDyess (det)
LA Gets Rasheed Wallace
Detroit gets 2 starters for 3.. Johnson and Kamen. Law will privde guard depth.
Atlanta gets a solid scorer in hamilton, as well as some veteran presence in McDyess.
The Clippers lose Kaman, but gain a lot of cap flexability in dumping Thomas and Knights salary, plus Rasheed is a large expiring contract.

ha! that was posted after i started playing with the trade machine... that first trade was a doozy to work out.
You really should specify in the header post that these are not actual trades.
I was under the assumption that anyone who follows the NBA knows full well what the ESPN Trade Machine is, especially given everyones love of Bill Simmons.

It looks like you assumed wrong considering the first reply you got.

I actually don't follow much of the off season stuff. Like, right now I have no idea who the top 5 drafts are in the NFL because it's not football anymore. I'm currently in my NBA playoff mode. Next it'll be the second half of MLB.
...and ESPN doesn't run everything in sports! I hate that channel but I'm also forced to love it too.

that it is.
FYI, I don't think it's been updated yet for the 2008 offseason.

I know. It made a lot of players off limits due to pending free agency, etc. But the existing contracts still work. Thats why i couldnt try and ship Rasheed to Charlotte... i would have tried to work something out with Okeafor.

This would never happen but:
Cleveland Trades: Ben Wallace, Wally, and Eric Snow
Knicks Trade: David Lee, Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph, and Jared Jeffries
Knicks clean up their cap and Cleveland upgrades multiple positions...by giving up three guys who are pretty much shot as useful players.

I'm looking forward to seeing exactly how Cuban plans on fixing this Mavs team he helped fuck up so bad. I'm going to enjoy seeing him hopelessly grasp onto a team that has clearly passed its window, which shut when the Lakers signed Pao and the Hornets got good.
Ugh. What a joke. I wish we'd missed the playoffs this year. At least that way we'd have a lottery pick.

The Pistons could Hire Tom Izzo as head coach and trade Rasheed straight up for Zach Randolph.
So the paper today mentioned trading for zach randolph.
Dumars is a smart guy...can't see him making a play for Zach and his big contract. Then again, I could see Zach doing really well on a team where there's strong veteran leadership. He clearly has the talent.

That was pretty dumb of him to dump their best young player for Jason Kidd, amiright?
