This looks odd and fantastic. See the trailer before they take it down

And I don't want to see someone make a new thread about this film months down the road. Damn it.

It was at least exciting enough a plot to be a Star Trek storyline, so why not?

It's based on a story F Scott Fitzgerald wrote in 1922.

"odd" and "fantastic" seem like the best words to describe it thus far.

Which he clearly stole from I've got nothing.

Hells yea! Fincher is my favorite modern director, and him and Pitt have knocked it out of the park each of the two times they've teamed up so far...

This may be the worst idea ever, but by watching that trailer with its music, I feel as if it should stay a silent color film (but a little dialogue is okay) with all music. It would leave the mystique that the trailer gives us.

But of course it would probably fail at the box office if they made it like that.

This is one of two movies this year I think will be worth the cost of admission, the other being The Dark Ken-nig-it.

Interesting side note, weren't Blanchett and Pitt suppose to star in The Fountain before film got canceled?

You can now download the full trailer (yes, English) in full 1080p hi-def glory from Dave's Trailer Page!

(at least at the time of this posting, it was the very first one on top of the latest updates)

Second full trailer is out! This one with LOTS more dialog. I might be crazy but I'm calling it right now -- Brad Pitt's first Best Actor Oscar nomination.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get an oscar nomination. He has worked hard to get to that award status and respectability as an actor. But a lot of competition this fall and winter that's for sure.

And I love anything this movie puts out for publicity, but I prefer that first trailer just because they left it more mysterious. But yeah...this or Revolutionary Road is the movie I'm most excited about.

I've been saying for years that I thought Pitt has long been a very underrated actor because of the whole heartthrob element.

Yea I'm very much looking forward to RR as well. Even though I still now consider Sam Mendes a blood enemy for marrying and impregnating the love of my life :P

My favorite author, focused on one of his great short stories. This is of course romantic and well, something I think we all need. It could be very good. It is rather ironic that we are turning to Fitzgerald themed stories. By the way….
