To my astonishment, the new Chevy Malibu commercial had this kickass song playing over it... I check it out, and end up buying this Lavie guy's record... and it's very good.

Here's some artist asshole's video over top of it, but at least you can hear the song. You gotta check this dude's latest record out.

I've listened to his 4 songs streaming on last.fm, yeah it sounds nice. I'll download the album.
I get a little Jack Johnson vibe from Quarter Past Wonderful and parts of other songs too

You could probably get that vibe from his voice, but I think the music has more complexity and smokiness to it than JJ's does. Plus, his use of strings is fantastic. I still can't get a handle on who I'd compare him to quite yet, but I'd probably shy away from the JJ one myself.

Oh yeah sure, the first songs really did not make me think of JJ at all and were more complex
