i didn't see a post on this. I saw the trailers last night. looks terrible. a guy i know is in it. He's pretty proud of it since he has lines and its his first mainstream movie. But it looks like Austin Powers 4: The spy who soldout. I have no idea how this got the greenlight.

And as an Indian guy, i ask what accent is Mike Meyers using? It's certainly not an indian one.

Anyways, any feelings on this movie?

Sick Boy: Well, at one time, you've got it, and then you lose it, and it's gone forever.

Mike Myers lost it.

So the new EW mag (Angelina Jolie cover) has one of its feature stories about Myers right in time for this movie. I just quickly glanced over it but man, motherfucker's got some demons. He's apparently a bit of a control freak who's been quick the dickhead on set when demanding what he wants. Anybody else ever get a look at his (now ex)wife though? She's actually kinda hot.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0752291/

She was in that episode of Curb as the friend of Larry & Cheryl that Larry goes to the movies with but she mistakes the fold in his pants for a boner when she comforts him  I mean for her age she's pretty damn good looking, just my type too

Seems a like a good idea for a movie but the previews have left me very skeptical. Mike Myers has his moments but is generally overrated in my humble opinion.

dunno if this will be good, but i like the fact that he was influenced by eastern philosophy and created a character from that. if you watch iconoclast he has a pretty interesting meeting with depak chopra.

im sure you can go on and on and bitch about racial insensetivity, but get a sense of humor and drop the pc bullshit.

yeah, it's not a pc issue. It's a believe-ablity issue. when you have a guy faking a bad accent in any movie, it's really distracting. You can cite Leo Dicaprio for a number of films, kevin costner, etc. It's annoying.

Thanks for jumping the gun though.

hey any movie about the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the stanley cup is going to be a stretch... but I'll watch it for that fact alone

Anyone see this? Box office was horrible, and reviews aren't any better.

First off, I think people are sick of it before even seeing it. The ads and promos are everywhere. I find it amusing (not really) that Myers uses "shameless promotion" as a gag itself. That's not funny! I am not 100 percent how it works, but his production company, knowing that the movie is awful, must have paid him a lot to constantly promote this movie, which looks absolutely terrible.

Funny thing about that. I watch just as much TV as anyone (though maybe not the right channels for this), and I literally didn't even know about this movie's existence at all until roughly a month ago.

That's insane. I see it on ESPN, Comedy Central, FOX and ABC constantly. I couldn't believe the opening day was June 20, because it felt like I had been seeing previews for months.
