I've seen a lot of Pearl Jam shows with some great opening acts, but I'm most excited about seeing Ted with them. I'm sure a lot of people don't know his music, so I wanted to post to HIGHLY recommend that people check him out and give him some love on this tour.
I got into him a few years back--at first he sounded a little too poppy for my taste, and I didn't like his frequent falsetto, but his sound grew on me and I've since become a huge fan.
He is undoubtedly one of the most ethical musicians out there--holding strong to the values that Pearl Jam had before they reached super-stardom. He's also incredibly intelligent, has great lyrics (personal, political alike (though his last album's lyrics left something to be desired)) and is making the world a better place. It may sound like I'm exaggerating, but it's true. I'm sure Ed's going to endorse him highly after these shows. They have a lot in common.
Again, I highly recommend giving him a fair chance. You won't fall in love instantaneously, but you should give him a chance. I can't wait to see him at MSG! I hope they get to share the stage a bit.
Also, if you saw Teddy play already, please post your thoughts--positive/negative.

When the tour was announced, I went out and found some of his music online. I was quite impressed, and was looking forward to seeing them play. At Camden 1, I was completely impressed. They were as good as I'd hoped, and they played a lot of the songs I had become familiar with. Definitely a great band!

I know that this is a terrible review but I thought they were just meh.
That's not a terrible review. A terrible review would be, I had to go home and Van Gogh my ears after hearing such awful tripe.
Personally, I'm looking forward to hearing them. I'm just hoping they are mixing it up a bit, otherwise by show 3 I'll just be hanging out in the beer line drinking.

I have two of his records and know he's big here in the DC area for his politically slanted rock. So I saw him for the first time at these past two gigs in Camden. The only songs I recognized were "Little Dawn," "Where Have All The Rude Boys Gone," and "Me & Mia." He did one called "Army Bound" which was all right and other one called "Bomb Or Be Bombed."
Seemed like the same songs both nights just in slightly different order. But I'd recommend getting there early for DC. He's got a three-piece backing band (that used to be only 2), a good amount of energy, and seems fairly witty and intelligent. His songs aren't extremely catchy, but there's a lot of meaning behind them. Good rock n' roll.
If anyone knows his setlist from both nights please post them.

I've seen TL/Rx twice in the past 6 months already, and they've both been some of the best shows I've ever seen. Cannot WAIT to see him open for my favorite band--this is a dream show for me. And if no one else cares, I'll just sing louder!

Here's a recording of his second night opening for Pearl Jam. 320k mp3s converted from 16bit/44.1 wavs. No editing other than track splits. If you know the titles of the unlabeled songs, let me know.

Wow! Thank you for sharing this. I'm downloading as I type. How hard is it to find live boots? I haven't really scoured around yet, but I'm planning on trying to track down some shows soon.

A few things: This is another 320k recording converted from 16 bit/44.1 wavs, captured with an Edirol R09. No editing, just track splits in CD Wave Editor. This recording was the first one I'd ever done using the R09, so I didn't switch off the low gain on this. This was recorded about 30 feet to the left of the soundboard facing the stage so its louder and more bassy than the second night which was recorded far right on Stone's side. Both recordings were made using the built in stereo mic.
There's a Ted Leo message board that I'm not registered on, so if anyone is, please feel free to post these two gigs there. I'll get DC tonight, which should be cool since its a hometown show for him.
Again, if you know the songs that aren't labeled, let me know.
And all apologies for the talking on this recording. Couldn't be helped.
