Good man ... hate to see him go. It's neat that God kept around His greatest critic for 71 years, though.

I wonder who Famous Death #3 will be ...

When celebrities die I always have the same reaction. I think to myself "its a damn shame"but I never truly feel sad or affected becuase I didnt know the person personally. I dont mean to sound insensitive. I mean, it sucks when people die, but just becuase someone is a celebrity doesnt mean I am personally affected by their death ya know. When Ledger died recently I was completely shocked and thought it was a fucking waste since I considered the man to be so fucking talented.

Today, when I read the headline of George Carlin's death, my heart sank lower than when Traci Proccacinni told me she didnt love me in 9th grade. I havent been this sad since I dont know when. I had the pleasure of seeing George live as he practiced his "Complaints and Grievances" material. I remember how badly my sides hurt from laughing, and the joy I got from watching my mom crack up at a pussy fart joke. Thank you for that George.

Maybe in heaven, you will finally fuck that "10."

I think these are some good thoughts of his, considering he's above it all now. Watch and learn, kids.

the smartest amd funniest comic ever. EVER.

he was a master of the English language. he didnt rely on dick and fart jokes to get a laugh, but he could tell the best dick and fart jokes you ever heard anyway

im just as sad as pldg up there. This fucking sucks.

oh and all morning on tv and radio ive heard the phrase "seven dirty words" about 5 million times. jesus assholes, that wasnt even his more decent material. its like theyre trying to make that bit the only thing George Carlin had ever accomplished. fuckers

This bit of news was the first thing I heard this morning. I'm also usually not upset by celebrity deaths, but George Carlin is an exception. It's a shame to lose him, but I'm glad that he lived. We lost a great one.

Given that my parents had HBO about as long as I've been alive, I've known Carlin's stuff for a long time. The first real irreverent comedian that I can remember listening to, and a great one at that. I feel very fortunate that I got to see him live six months ago, and it's a shame that now more people won't get the opportunity. :(

I was lucky enough to see him 3 times. Once in Vegas about 7-8 years ago, in AC 5 years ago and again in AC about 3 years ago.

The worst part is 2 weeks ago my dad and I were talking and he said "I want to see George Carlin, he is playing down AC...I've never seen him live and would like to while he is still around" I told him I would plan to go with him and my sister and that would be his Father's day gift. Looks like I will have to go looking for some clothes for him instead.

The guy lived a great life and I'm sure he wouldn't want anyone to be sad about it. I am sad and I was really looking forward to watching his next HBO special and seeing him live one more time.

really bummed me out when I heard this...

he was a funny guy - saw him live a couple of years ago and have always enjoyed his specials.

still have only watched half of his most recent special on HBO, where he talks about getting old...but i was loving it

RIP George - hopefully he found whatever thought gave him comfort before death
