How come to some it doesn't make sense to say, "we need to fight for peace". Every time I say that, if it be in Iraq or wherever, the people who oppose me say it doesn't make sense. Of course it makes sense. I wish peace could come free but it doesn't.

a kingdom of conscious
peace instead of war
love instead of hate
that is what lies at the end of a crusade

Anyone who would say that it doesn't make sense is a pacifist idealist. There are definitely times when you must fight for peace or you will end up subdued by aggressors. However, Iraq was not one of those cases.

If you're always fighting for peace, then you never actually have peace. And that seems to be the case for the world we live in.

Individuals think differently, this leads to conflict. You resolve every instance of cognitive dissonance with words and people choose to employ physical altercations and violence instead. I accept this as part of the human condition. But I also hope that civilization matures in the same manner that humans do. Accepting the previous as true, I would theorize that we are the equivalent of an angst ridden teen, sexually frustrated and mad at their mother. We have a ways to go.

Until then, peace through superior firepower?
