Draws just came out... Federer and Djoko on the same side of the draw is incredibly interesting, as well as Nadal and Roddick, who should continue his mind-numbing descent into mediocrity this week with another disappointing showing.

I still say this is the best tourney of the year. The all white, the history, the grass, Sampras winning every yea... oh right.

Djoko also had an interesting quote, one that could easily come back to bite him in the ass. Not quite sure why he said it, but it makes for good drama should he meet Fed in the semis.

Quote:
"Some things are changing. I think he's a little bit shaken with that loss and mentally he has been struggling in the last couple of months," Djokovic said this week in London. "New names are coming, fresh talented players who believe more they can win against him and I am one of them. Suddenly he is worried a little bit."

Seeing Nalbandian go down today was kickass. The Canadian kid that beat him had a good grass-court style. I still don't know why more players don't attack the net more there.

I'm in the middle of Sampras' biography and can't get enough of it. I forgot how much the Brits disliked Pete early in his career. Weird cause Roger seems to be loved during this whole run. Anyway, I'm obviously rooting for Nadal or Djokovic, basically a non-Federer win. He's due for an injury and for pressure to get to him for an extended period in his career. I just hope this is the start of it.

I just finished that book yesterday. It was 260 pages of fucking awesomeness. I figured you'd be reading it too, Club. I was going to suggest it to you if you hadn't.

That book made me realize that I dislike Federer for the same reasons I loved Sampras (although he hasn't had a 96 Corretja match or a 95 Davis Cup-type match). I suspect if Federer was American I would be on his bandwagon. As it is, I'm constantly hoping somebody upends him.

Reasons why I hate Wimbledon...

1. Obsession with pedantic petty rules.
2. Not being able to park outside my own house because some cunt can't be bothered to get the tube to the tennis.
3. Idiots queueing for eternity as corporate ticket holders waltz past.
4. 'Henman Hill'. Exclusively populated by fat middle class women waving Union Jacks.
5. Over priced Strawberrys.
6. Interruption of TV Schedules.
7. Middle England shouting lame things like ‘come on Tim’ but ONLY when they are allowed to.
8. 99% of people not caring a toss about tennis for the other 50 weeks a year.
9. Cliff F*cking Richard.
10. Sue Barker.
11. Southfield Tube Station only being tidied up for the two weeks of Wimbledon. Seriously, they put up lovely hanging baskets that are only on rental for two weeks. The rest of the year. It's a shithole. And my council tax goes up as a result.
12. Pubs in Wimbledon putting their prices up for two weeks. GRRRR!!!
13. Traffic being fucking solid, meaning it takes me an extra half-hour to get to work. GRRRR!!!
14. Lost tourists.

Federer seems to have regain confidence. The come back he made in 3rd set from 5-2 to 7-6 was amazing. And with Djokovic gone home, his path seems easier now. But Nadal is also in top form so another Nadal Federer final is heading its way.

If Roddick loses this match against Tipsarevic, which he's about to, I'm completely giving up on him as a fan. American competitive tennis on the biggest level is dead.

Roddick just lost one fan. And a match.
