A very good, and intense, read for anyone who was ever a fan of the show.

Newsradio is what The Office wishes it could be.

Newsradio was a fuckin brilliant show. Awesome writing, great comedic timing, a Canadian and of course, Phil. Lovitz was good as a replacement, but he was just that.

I never really watched it when it first aired but only when it was on A&E in syndication. It was shame that it had such a short run. I don't think they ever got past losing Hartman, he was brilliant on this show. Lovitz was ok, but it just wasn't the same. I agree, The Office wishes it could have been this good.

You guys must be talking about the American version of the Office, because the British one is untouchable. Newsradio was a good show too, though.

Great show. With Hartman I think it could have lasted awhile. Very underrated show.

I had such a crush started on Maura Tierney back then. And still do. Although I prefer her with her natural darker hair from those days, not the often much lighter 'do from ER.

You know there exists some very brief onscreen nudity of her in the annals of film? It was some throwaway cable flick I caught some night, couldn't tell ya the name or plot, and the male co-star was a nobody. She's sleeping in bed, camera viewing her longways from the side, and the guy quietly comes up from the bottom of the bed, and slips the covers off, and you see the boobs (I remember this because for awhile I had it included in a sort of compilation VHS of movie nude scenes  )

But yea from ER, I was so happy when her and Carter finally officially got together. Plus because I'm a big Noah Wyle fan, he was my favorite actor on TV for quite awhile.

The wife of a friend of mine worked on the set of ER for a couple of seasons and said Tierney's an arrogant bitch who treats those she feels "beneath" her like shit (i.e the entire crew).

I'd still do her.

Dave Foley :luv:

I love Newsradio, it's one of my absolute favorite shows. 'Beth' and 'Jimmy' were great characters and of course, Phil Hartman was hilarious.

"Dave, I don't know if you've noticed this, but most of the stuff I do is weirder than hell."

"Lisa has decided that she wants to have a baby but that she doesn't want to get married. Now I know that if you were awake you'd probably say something like, "Well son, why milk the cow when you've got a fridge full of steaks." And I would probably say, "That makes absolutely no sense, sir." And then I'm sure you would say... "Well it sure sounded like it made sense when that guy Chuck Connors said it in that movie China Town." And I of course would say, "Well sir, Chuck Connors wasn't in the movie China Town." And I'm sure you would come back with, "Well Dave, if I wanted to have this conversation I'd have hired that guy Siskel Ebert to do your job." And I would say, "Sir, Siskel and Ebert are two guys." And I'm sure you would then come back with, "Dave just 'cause the man is fat is no reason to make fun of him."

Back in the days when Andy Dick was just only crazy enough to have his act reigned in appropriately enough for a network sitcom, but still be entertaining as the office whacko.

Mr. James: Melanie, I'm single, you're single, what do you say we get married?
Melanie: Well I'm glad you finally decided on the direct approach.
Mr. James: Yeah, well I'm a businessman at heart.
Melanie: As am I. What's your offer?
Mr. James: Single rich male seeks matrimony.
Melanie: Primary residence?
Mr. James: Westchester County.
Melanie: Would you be open to considering a secondary residence in Manhattan?
Mr. James: Central Park West?
Melanie: South.
Mr. James: Done. Time spent together.
Melanie: Eight hours, five days a week.
Mr. James: Seven hours, twelve hours weekends.
Melanie: Fifty-five hours aggregate, specifics to be determined later.
Mr. James: I'm amenable to that. Children.
Melanie: One.
Mr. James: Three.
Melanie: Two.
Mr. James: Done. But one of them has to be a male.
Melanie: I'll see what I can do. Vacations.
Mr. James: December, Hawaii.
Melanie: June. The Vineyard.
Mr. James: June fine, but Hawaii.
Melanie: Nope, the Vineyard.
Mr. James: Is that a deal breaker for you?
Melanie: I'm afraid so.
Mr. James: Me too. Well we gave it a shot.
