for my B-day (22nd) my fiance is taking me to the MLB HOF for the weekend. Cooperstown here I come!!

I just read that Fred Claire, former Dodgers GM, has donated the ball that Orel Hershiser threw to Rick Dempsey to officially make LA the 1988 Champions....I may cry when I see that thing :)

And I hear they have a huge display of Red Sox 2004 WS memorabilia including the bloody sock!! Ill be sure to take many pics for all you yankee fans to see :) hehe....

I've been to the HOF twice, both within the last five years. On one hand, it's very cool to see everything for the first time, and you definitely get a "wow" feeling. But the downside is that after an hour or two you've seen everything and Cooperstown is very small. There is nothing -- NOTHING -- close to that town.

I could spend days in the HOF and Cooperstown and it wouldn't be enough. True, there might not be much in the town, but there's so much in the HOF and so many card/memorabilia shops that I would never get bored.

Cooperstown and the surrounding countryside is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Your girlfriend is really cool to take you there for your birthday. Spend a day at the HOF, it's very cool, then spend some time with her at a nice restaurant or out in the country, and she'll surely make it worth your while.
