2nd leg of Eddie's solo tour (possible dates in Europe since he's still in top 50 in Italy and was already approached for a show) Studio this fall (very possible regardless of Mike's last interview, reportedly Eddie's been writing since January on his own so there is enough material there) Album out by may 2009 followed by world tour.

I'll second that. And I agree with what you said in another thread, Stip. In terms of energy, fun, and variety, this may have been one of the best tours they ever did.

I have to agree here. It's gonna take some years before we can really interpret what we saw but i feel that this has been the best the band has been in awhile(maybe 98') as far as energy/fun/variety go. Just amazing how they can keep doing this. I'm scared this as good as it's ever gonna get but at least i got to experience it.

July: Rehearsal of new material/songs. August: Ed solo East/Midwest tour. Band rehearse new material without Ed. September-December: New album session with Brendan. '09 Jan-Feb: Album finalized. March-April: Quick non-Europe international tour (Aussie-Asia or S. America). May: New album release. June-Nov: World tour; U.S. and Europe tour.

i think this run on tour was to service two things. First, to kill time before brendan o'brien is free. second, to get the band back in playing shape together. they know this next record has to be great. avocado was good and solid, but there's a reason they're going back to brendan. so i really see them hitting the studio sooner rather than later.
