Hi,
How strict were they for cameras on the west coast EV tour. The email i got regarding the upcoming tour says not even cell phone cameras are allowed.

For real? i have to leave my cell phone at the hotel b/c it happens to have a shitty camera on it? Do they frisk and enforce this?

thanks for any input!!

mike

If everyone plays there part, it makes for a MUCH more enjoyable experience. Leave the fucking cellphone in the car/hotel.

i don't care about taking a picture, it's a just a weird idea to not be with a phone in today's age. such a part of the daily social grind. you can't even buy a phone without a cam now anyway. either way, hopefully someone has some experience from the first leg of the tour and will be able to answer my question.

Hi T......,
As long as you don't take your phone out during the show, it should be just

any light security sees, they are all over your ass.
That was the most annoying part of the show - security scuffling by you to tell the bone head in front of you to put their phone away.

weird 'cos at the Wiltern I took my phone in no problem and could have carried in a gun if I had wanted to the security was so lax!

I haven't heard of anyone being refused a phone in anywhere. The security was more during the show..but even then, by the time the tour had reached LA, they were not fussed about photos either.

but why be the jerk who's blinding Ed when he plays?
Is it that hard to just be respectful and leave the cameras at home and phones in your pocket/purse? If it's the same as the first stint of shows he did, the lights will be low and you'll notice every light that comes up in the crowd - it's very bothersome if you are truly there for the music.
These venues are too small for the drunks who have absurd song requests the entire night, also. The worst thing about the Berkeley show I went to, were the fans, if you can call them that.

I'm just saying what happened, I didn't take any photo (shit camera phone anyway) and told my friend to cut it down when he did in night 2 (I do find the screens annoying too..let alone using stupid flashes!).

but the fans shouting WERE by far the most annoying part. Night 2, an idiot 3 seats from me (so in the 10c section) was the first one to shout out..Ed shut him up pretty good though..but more people further back didn't get put off :shake:

I didn't mean you sweetie, just people in general.
Ed did pretty good for a bit (in Berkeley) at least - playing around with some of the song requests. The "Footsteps" request was by far the best though. A jerk screamed it from the balcony, Ed was enjoying a smoke and started stomping on the stage. That worked out to be a decent moment.
I don't think they should serve alcohol at these shows, it's just too intimate and people aren't able to control themselves.

Point taken about the camera phones, but what about small handheld recording devices?

I would, but the main screen lights up as well. I'm not covering a $300 recorder in tape. :?

I'm confident there are plenty of people that will be annoying assholes regardless of the involvement of alcohol.
