I was just listening to the Tampa boot and it gave me chills listening to the crowd sing Betterman. Which led me to thinking it would be cool to put together a playlist of songs with the best crowd participation.
Any suggestions? Besides Betterman from Tampa 06/12/2008.

Black from Night 1 in Portugal 2006 is amazing;
Daughter/It's OK from Cleveland 06 or the Milan 2000 audience mix version;
Indifference MSG1 2003 with Ben Harper;
Present Tense from one of the SF shows in 06;
Alive MSG2 2003;
Animal Portugal 2000;
Small Town from Camden 2 2003 or was it 2006 when Ed added the "jesus" when ppl were screaming "Hello"
Jeremy also from Camden i think this time in 2006 "sing it for Pete" ....

Great. Yeah, I'm talking all time best. Not just 2008 boots.

Best crowd moment of 2008 is EASILY Betterman from Mansfield 1. We screamed so loud, resulting in a very long pause where Eddie Vedder looked amazed, happy, and humbled. It was awesome, and ended up being probably the best version of the song ever. Definately my favorite PJ concert moment all time.

I know he does it all the time. He did it a ton this year too. But you gotta hear this boot, it's just different. Eddie had this look of total amazement on his face. And of all the shows I've ever been too, Betterman is almost always played but I've never heard the crowd scream like that during it. Not even close. Even the next night didn't come close.

Buenos Aires '05. Seriously, both shows are amazing.

You can hear the crowd singing the words to "Release" on the 5/30/06 Washington D.C. show. The audience lets out this huge roar as soon as they hear the opening notes and sound like they are loving every minute.

Eddie sings "I'll ride the wave" and then stops singing to let the crowd finish "where it takes me!"

I think this would be a great version to start your little compilation.

he's right, never like that.
There was a full minute pause, whilst we kept screaming and drumming the seats..Ed was laughing hard :mrgreen:

of the show I was at:
Milan 06, Reading 06 (the stage, and therefore audience mics, were miles away, but 50.000 people singing along to Iron Man on the Ukulele is quite something!!), Lisbon 06 both nights, Dublin 06, Columbia 08, MSG 08 both nights, but 2 particularly.

shows I wasn't at: anything in South America!! I'm so going there next year if they play it (Mike said to some SA friends that they might)

Hopefully I can get it done in the next few days. Will probably have to do some searching for songs I don't already have. I will post the list here when I complete it.

We just need a compilation of the Latin-American tour of 2005, combined with some Italian & Portuguese stuff. End of story.

this is true. ed acknowledges it saying something like he's never heard an audience that sings even the guitar parts. it was pretty cool listening to that.

daughter from milan 2000 really needs to be on this

it would be similar if you meant it to help this person with his compilation.
either way, he can do with the replies as he wants.
so let me mention these two songs, and let him form his own opinion about them all... :)

I was there. And while this was a totally energizing moment, I liked Black right before it better. The crowd was just as loud as the band and blended with them perfectly.
