In the UK we have Most Haunted, which I assume is similar. Always good for a laugh:

This weeks episode was significantly better than last weeks. That picture frame moving was just creepy! I love this show, it's not the best entertainment out there, but it's great fun to just veg out to or watch late at night.

It's my favorite entertainment. That picture frame moving would knock anyone who watches it on their ass. Crazy stuff

I'll admit that GH is a serious guilty pleasure of mine.

Now, for the record, I think the show is totally full of shit and the TAPS team is so shockingly scientifically inept as to render anything they find useless anyway -- not to mention the shady editing and constant chasing of shadows and voices never seen or heard on camera -- but still I'll watch that shit for hours.

I have similar feelings towards Monster Quest on History too. Both shows are highly entertaining in spite of being totally absurd.

I don't find Monster Quest completely absurd. I thought the Giant Squid episode was pretty good and they might have possibly found something...that said there is no Big Foot.

As for Ghost Hunters I really enjoy the show...the EVP's are usually pretty spooky....but there is no way of knowing if any of it is real and certain videos of full body apparitions seem obviously faked. It's a shame with the International show cause they go to cool places but the people on the show suck.

You don't believe because it's on television, and won't believe regardless because you don't want to accept their findings as something genuine. The jokes on you. Saying you're watching it for pure entertainment rather than learning purposes should tell you about how little you know about the guys and their integrity and passion about what they do. You know why you don't like them? Because they're average joes who are not out to entertain you. They do what they do and that's it. Sorry if they don't meet your criteria for "entertainment". And sorry if this message seems a little hostile, but it always needs to be said.

The best one is the original. International is weak. Destination Truth is alright but comes off as a poser show sometimes. The "hauntings" are probably 99% bullshit, but I'd rather watch it then whatever brain-rot is being shown on most other channels.

?????????????

Do you think it's a scripted show? TAPS has existed long before Sci Fi came to them. It's a docurama about real people with real jobs and hobbies.

Are you now going to tell me that "Deadliest Catch" is staged and the fisherman are not real?

wow.

No one unless they are on the show or part of the editing and production of the show knows if Ghost Hunters in 100% real. Also one can question the validity of a show like Ghost Hunters and still believe in certain aspects of the paranormal. It is perfectly reasonable to believe that they sometimes find something and other times exaggerate certain evidence to make the show entertaining. If the show was a straight science show they wouldn't show the team joking around. There wouldn't be spooky music and editing. We wouldn't have to know about Brian's women troubles or that Steve is afraid of spiders.

As far as the casts. I really like the Ghost Hunters cast. Saying the International cast sucks was a little much but the truth is I just don't find the personalities on that show interesting to watch. Seeing how 95% of the time nothing is happening you kind of have to have a fondness for the cast.

Do you really think cameras follow Jay and Grant around as they go out for calls for Roto Router just in case someone calls about a Ghost case? Do you really think Roto Router sends out two plumbers to fix a leak in someone's house? You think Jay and Grant need to team up to plunge a toilet. Of course certain parts of the show are scripted.

Roto Router does send them out on jobs. Jason and Grant still work for them. Roto Router actually makes business off of Jason and Grant because residents break appliances and such on purpose and request Jason and Grant to come fix it.

Yes, I will agree with you that scripted parts may be during the moments when they're receiving news about a case. But that's about it.

They can't show the team joking around? Do the "mythbusters" guys joke around? Of course they do. It's a docurama. It shows real people. And as far as Brian and other member's drama on the show goes, they don't show much of that anymore. They stick to the cases. They have been the last two seasons.

The only thing cheesy and "entertainment" like about the show is Sci Fi's need for the ridiculous editing and music. Besides that it's as if you were watching the TAPS members actually do an investigation.

And why can't Jason and Grant be legit researchers and investigators? They know more about the subject than any pompous scientist does. And it helps for the guys to know a lot about plumbing and home appliances (since most residents mistake house problems for the paranormal).

And you can go ahead and talk to the production crew if you'd like. Sound and camera men have already quit due to experiencing phenomena first hand while on location.

All because it's hard to believe that something exists, we question whether the show is valid or not. I'm going to start questioning "Deadliest Catch" because I don't believe real fishermen actually go crab fishing.

You seem to be infering from people's post slights against the show and cast that aren't there. Also the comparision between Deadliest Catch and Ghost Hunters doesn't work brother so let it go.

"O wait"
"What the frick!"
"Did you hear that"
"It sounded like a child voice".

I gotta go and investigate.
