Bon Iver and Tallest Man on Earth are astounding. It is a good year for this kind of stuff. Any more suggestions? I love acoustic guitar if it's used well in an interesting way.

It was self-released in 2007 and received wider release on the Jagjaguwar label in February 2008 (and on the 4AD label in the UK in May 2008).
Key word being "released." It was released in 2007. Solace has been talking about this thing since last fall. It's a 2007 album.
Anyway, you might like the new album by Samamidon, EH. It's a bit different than these, but it's got the same kind of feel. I was put off at first by the dude's voice (he sounds far more typically "indie" than Tallest Man or Bon Iver), but the songs are there.
I find it kind of sad that "indie" has become a slightly accurate way to describe certain singers. You know, the whiney, loose, flamboyant, basically shit vocal style. It has really caught on.
