I caught this yesterday. Bit surprised, I got more of a feel of a comedy from it than anything else. Still don't think it's fully sunk in Stone's actually doing this though, and releasing just prior to the election. He's pulled some weird shit in his career, but this is up there. He must be wonked out on blow again.

It was weird seeing actors portray those politicians.

I must admit I guess I was sort of pleasantly surprised by Thandie Newton in there. I practically laughed at her casting as Condaleeza Rice because obviously she's way too hot, but looks like they dumbed her down pretty good.

So Bush was in league with Dudley Smith back in the eighties? Bit of a stretch, although it'd explain alot.

"Do I...do I really look like the elder Bush?"
"Not really."
"Should we do something about that?"

Ya know I'd thought about that, too. Like, at least with Brolin, based on that one teaser shot we saw several weeks ago, they have him looking somewhat similar thanks to makeup and stuff for the White House-era Bush, but yea as much as James Cromwell is a fantastic actor, they didn't even bother at all trying to make him look like Sr.

And the guy playing Karl Rove, don't know him by name, but is he maybe the guy who played Capote in the biopic that didn't star Phil Hoffman?

It would be ok if he didn't look like Bush Sr as long as he acted like Bush Sr. Cromwell just seems to be in Generic Old Politician mode, though.

Doesn't look like him to me.

I should preface any further comments I make in this thread by stating that I fucking hate Oliver Stone. Like, viscerally. If I saw him on the street, I would spit on him. Motherfucker.

Okay just found this, no it's not him.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0429363/

Kinda funny though to see it's the guy who did the voice for Dobby the house elf in Chamber Of Secrets :D
