arc was very cool; I was three rows from the stage, dead center; too many a-holes screaming during songs...ed made a little funny comment about it...."didn't think we'd get those assholes into new york," he said.

I'm so happy I'm going to the DC show on the 16th; even with a shitty overpriced seat.

did anyone see the twat in the mezz with the freaking glowsticks screaming every two seconds? glowsticks. no lie. waving them around during 'no more' like she was watching tiesto. thats totally appropriate. was right in front of me, of course.
Taking my 5yr old daughter to the show sat night she is a huge fan and was wondering if the show was really loud? We are sitting 5th row. She is fired up!

Your 5yo is a big fan? I have a little boy that will be 5 in November, he likes Eddie's version of Baby Beluga (especially the fast part, he told me). Maybe I need to work on him more.

The acoustics in the Opera House are wonderful. Even up in the Mezz, it got pretty loud at times, especially some of Liam's part of the show. I would bring earplugs for your daughter. I have very sensitive ears and I wore earplugs and still enjoyed every note of the show.

Basically last night's show was perfect for me. I had always wanted to see Ed do his thing without the band. I love Pearl Jam, but this was a unique experience. The set list was very cool, and the energy was good, especially for a guy that was admittedly "on drugs."
Hearing Hard Sun live was a big highlight for me. Wishlist was fantastic and Ed threw the idiots a bone by breaking out Small Town so that they could shout their hearts out. The Into The Wild stuff holds up very very well on its own and sounded fantastic. Arc was awesome, i just wish that some of the drunks could quiet down so that we could enjoy it more.
The lab coats? I don't get it, but whatever.
We caught the end of Liam's set, the last three songs, and it was kind of cool. I don't think I'd buy his album, but what we heard was interesting and he seems like he's really into whatever it is that he's doing.
But ultimately the night was about Eddie being Eddie. He sounded great and he can definitely hold his own for two hours without the band, but you could tell he missed the mid-set "EvenFlow" cig break.
I wish I could go tonight, as Brett and Sunny have me convinced that he'll be playing a four hour set with every rarity known to man broken out and special appearances by Springsteen, Bono and Peter Gammons, but alas PJ/Ed have beaten my wallet into submission this summer.
