I like this idea. I'm in if enough others are as well. I like the genres enough as is, but if anyone has any ideas about additions, subtractions, or substitutions, I think we should be open to them. I'll start drawing up some lists.

I like the idea, though I don't like the whole "round 1 pick this, round 2 pick that" I'd want it in whatever order I want. Just make sure all 10 are picked.

No such thing as a "comedy" apparently. They can only be romantic. No Caddyshack allowed folks. Change Romantic Comedy to Comedy.
Couple of ideas... You should do it like the baseball draft, although the "genre" becomes the "position" the ballplayer played.
That way, if all the good "gangster" movies are going quickly, you can decide that "well fuck it, im stuck with Mickey Blue Eyes.. I think ill save my gangster movie till the end of the draft and take a better War movie now." All genre's arent equal- so dont restrict what round they take their movie in. Its like forcing a team to take a Kicker in the first round.. even if the best RB is still on the board.
Create a panel of 3 or 5 (non-drafting) members to serve as a majority rules arbitration board for any movies whose genre is in question (or disputed). they will then determine what genre the film is BEST DESCRIBED as. (ie Jerry McQuire... Comedy or Sports?). No appeals can be made against the arbitration panels decision.

I'd agree with draft whatever movie you want in whatever round, but not with the arbitration committee. Individual drafters should designate what Genre they want their pick to be labelled as. We need more players first, though.

I can already smell EPIC Failure, see CR Tourney in OB, on this one.
I'd rather just do 10 smaller tournaments that just focus on each of the genres.
...i knew there had to be a catch if i'm going to win my first tourney. so is everyone going to view it as a clusterfuck or something and thus not see it as something one should be proud of winning?

If this tourney doesn't end up happening, we should get moving on something else along similar lines. I'd recommend a combined Gangster/Western tournament.

I could keep on going with A&E Tournaments, but I think we all decided that A&E needed a tournament break.
