AL MVP.

Hamilton
.305 Avg | 27 Hr's | 108 Rbi's | 74 R | 7 SB's | .369 OBP | .558 SLG | .926 OPS

Quentin
.285 Avg | 29 Hr's | 86 Rbi's | 79 R | 5 SB's | .379 OBP | .557 SLG | .936 OPS

Another important stat that points to Quentin deserving the MVP award.

He leads the AL in close-and-late OPS (1.160).

Also the fact that Hamilton's only glaringly better stat is RBI, which is skewed by the fact that has has had 134 PA's w/ RISP (AL leader) as opposed to CQ's 100.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that Hamilton has 224 PA w/ runners on (AL leader) as opposed to CQ's 168.

I think these guys are the frontrunners, what do you guys think?

if the Yankees make the playoffs or simply stay in contention until the end of the season....A-Rod will get and deserve consideration.

shit, the yankees could not make the playoffs and he should still get consideration considering his OPS is 60 points higher.

most people know who "should" be the the main candidates...but the voters often go ga-ga over the big RBI guys and whoever has the best "story".

The same could be said about the east bias. They're all the same.

Seriously, how many times have the Yankees/Red Sox/Mets/Phillies been featured as "Sunday Game of the Week" over Angels/Diamondbacks/White Sox/Cubs?

yeah, I was wondering why he put neither Arod nor Kinsler up there instead. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Clearly, Dustin Pedroia should get AL MVP.

I guess I don't know who "everybody is." Hamilton still probably has the edge over Quentin, simply because he plays center.

But if you want to really have an argument as to who is actually the most valuable player in the AL, look at Grady Sizemore.

Sizemore definitely has great numbers, but I think he'll be looked down on because he plays for a last place team. Anyone want to go out on a limb and give it to a pitcher over a position player?

oh, he won't win it, but baseball writers are morons so I don't really care about that aspect of it. Predicting these things isn't as difficult as actually divining who deserves it.

I think his best bet is that he looks like an unfrozen caveman (maybe even a lawyer)
