I want to replace my dvd-rom in my dell with this burner. Anybody have any opinions on this one?

Try doing some research on http://www.eopinions.com.

I have a Sony DRU500ax, and it's outstanding. I'm sure there are better burners out there.

Also, make sure to search http://www.pricewatch.com to find the cheapest price for ANY computer part. NewEgg isn't always the best.
