Don't take a QB(other then the elite ones like Brady, P Manning, Romo and Brees) until after round 5 if it's a standard public league.
This might be reason #1 why I hate fantasy football as it's commonly structured.
Yeah I think you once discussed this in another thread.
I mean, how tough can it be to simply weight passing, rushing, and receiving yards differently to put some equality in the positions?
It's not so much scoring, as much as it is depth. There's a ton of quality QBs, but 300 carry RBs are harder to come by.
Hopefully as RBBC is becoming more common these days that that issue will dissipate a bit.
I should play around with Excel a bit to see if I could build a more fair system.
A friend of mine spent last year in a league that attempted to do this. Maybe you'll have better luck but the system they were using was nuts. Points for receptions and completions is ok but when you're giving WRs and QBs point for passes that go for first downs you're reaching.

Points for receptions also boosts some RBs value(LT, Westbrook).
Yeah, I always thought the rule kind of contradicted itself. Then I played with the rule for the first time last year and found that it does an ok job of doing what it's supposed to do. The best RBs are always going to be the most valuable because they get more chances and there are fewer of them. Using the rule last year I found that the better WR end up in the area of that 2nd tier of RBs. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But I thought playing with the rule was better than without it.

The offensive starters are pretty good. I feel like you need another running back though. Depending on the scoring in your league, you'd probably be better off starting a RB in the WR/RB position.

I had first pick in my league so I got LT but after that my draft was absolutely abysmal. I did get Todd Heap at TE but that's a pretty weak thing to be happy about.
