http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news_update/Curtis_to_have_sports_hernia_surgery.html?

Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis will have sports hernia surgery, coach Andy Reid said today.

The full extent of the injury will not be clear until the surgery is performed so no timetable was given for a possible return, but expect it to be a while, given the past history of the injury.

Curtis becomes the third Eagles player to have a sports hernia in the last few years. Donovan McNabb had surgery during the 2005 season after trying to play through the injury. L.J. Smith had offseason surgery in the spring of 2007 but the injury lingered during the season after he suffered another injury to the area during training camp.

Curtis was injured against Carolina in last Thursday's preseason game. He tried to practice this week but was unable to run because of the pain, leading to the decision to have the surgery.

Reid said he is not interested in bringing in another receiver at this time.

With Reggie Brown still out with a hamstring injury, also suffered against Carolina, the starting receivers Friday at New England will be DeSean Jackson in Brown's spot and either Hank Baskett or Greg Lewis in Curtis' spot.

Curtis is coming off the most productive season of his career with 77 catches for 1,110 yards. He equaled a career high with six touchdowns. He signed as a free agent from the St. Louis Rams before last season.

I have him too. I also have Marv Harrison, who's coming off an injury himself.

C'mon, Patty Crayton! Ugh.

I know this sucks, but people missing something here. Arizona does not want to trade Boldin. I wish things were like Madden, but they're not. Hopefully they can tread water for the first 4 weeks of the season. Even though every fucking person on this team who has had that injury has missed most of the season. This is just awesome. Who knows though, Reid said the same thing before they went out and got Stallworth. So we'll see.

Yep, and this is why they probably won't do anything. Chris Henry WAS out there. I can't believe the Bengals re-signed him.

Cards are not trading Boldin this season, no matter how much he shit talks them in the media. While Philly would be a prime spot for him, it's not going to happen.

We should just have one gigantic NFC East thread. It'd be a lot more entertaining that way.

If it makes you feel better warehouse, DeSean Jackson went to the same high school as Chase Utley.

Obviously this would never happen...but it made for a funny exchange on So Fla sports radio today.

Caller: We should trade Beck to Arizona.
Host: For Boldin?
C: Yeah man!
Host: Well it is Arizona. They're dumb! They want to lose!
