After $77 for my ticket and $25 for parking, posters and t-shirts were $35 each. That's nuts. I got a poster but not a t-shirt...I didn't pay that much for Pumpkins shirt for my girlfriend and I wasn't going to pay that much for an Eddie Vedder shirt, either.

I thought the prices were a bit excessive, especially for tickets. Although considering how much posters and tickets are resold for on Ebay I guess EV figures he should get as much as he can, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think within the market, the face ticket price was right on. having recently been to a few other shows for "big name" bands, and seeing their merch prices at 40$ a t-shirt, i guess this is also accurate for the market.. or what it will bear.

that being said... i would love to know the breakdown on who gets what on a shirt or poster, since the poster price has jumped 15$ in 2 years. how much goes to who would be interesting.

I really hope that it doesnt get to the point where it keeps going up until we just dont buy um because of price. these are once in a lifetime type things to have, so its sad that i feel complelled to spend so much on them.

Apparently you do, Douche McBaggins, as my thread subject was pretty clear and you still decided to enter. And, in case there was any doubt, you also replied.

I just bought one poster instead of all three, because of the price.

"This song was written when gas was $2 a gallon...it wasn't that long ago."

Yeah, I remember that. I believe posters were $20 a pop then.

Bingo. And same here...the posters were not flying off the shelf like they have been in years past...I got to the front of the line in less than 5 minutes and I could see a very large stack of them.

They also need to get into modern times and take credit card...yes it takes longer, but I want to use my Visa debit so that I don't have to carry around all that cash that this type of stuff now costs. Pumpkins took Visa ;)

I mean, had I wanted a t-shirt too, that's almost $100 when you factor in parking that's cash only, and you haven't had anything to drink/eat yet (though I generally don't partake in overpriced event concessions unless I can't avoid it...unlike seemingly the majority of brutish drunken Chicago fans who ruin nearly every song by getting up in the middle for a beer :( )

No shit. I dropped $200 at the merch stand in Milwaukee - a single poster for me, two sets of posters for west coast friends, and a shirt for the wife. Had to hit the ATM between sets to have enough cash for the second set of posters.

heh. I bought only one, but it was more because I am out of wall space probably, and its expensive to get them framed. buying the poster is a comitment to a framing too. maybe when gas goes back down (*and it will...), so will poster prices :) lol.

the t-shirt is definitely worth the $35... its about the highest quality shirt i ever got at a show. this is on the east coast leg, the quicksilver shirts. the one i got at the show i went to on the west coast leg was pretty thin and the neck stretched a little, and that drives me crazy.

the ticket prices, on the other hand, were high i think. it didn't stop me from catching 4 solo shows, but basically they were just as much as seeing the full band in between the two solo legs.

With the seats I got, I'm not gonna complain about the ticket prices. Plus, Liam was a great opener.

I didn't attend any Westcoast shows, but the East t-shirts were the same as the June ones as far as the quality and texture is concern. The 2 Eddie posters were better than PJ June ones in my opinion(in comparison to the ones I got).

I had a great time overall so the money was well spent. :)

I have to agree--I wish I had bought a poster now, though (for this and every other PJ show I've been to), since I foolishly didn't realize they were going to be twice as much (if not more) if I tried to get one after the fact. I wish I could have afforded the ticket, shirt AND a poster, but I can't right now. Damn.

You have two more chances with Brad Klausen's sale next weekend at artillerydesign.com and also when the 10C gets around to selling them.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely keep a lookout.

Just fyi...the price of the posters at Brad's sale will be $60 because they are signed and numbered by Brad himself. The fan club sale will be around the same price as the show. Plus shipping. However, they will not be signed/numbered.

I agree, it was either a shirt or a poster for me and I went with a poster. I'm glad I got it, it looks great framed.

Soon we will be making the choice: should I buy a poster, a shirt or a zippo lighter? Will be an even harder choice!

Don't be too upset. I just saw the Kings of Leon tonight and T-shirts were $40.
