I think he sucks, he's not nearly angsty enough to be in Pearl Jam.

I don't care either way.

Of course, I did like yelling "Boom!" when he came out.

yeah i guess i contradict myself, because there is part of me that likes his contribution, and part of me that doesn't. but there are a lot of people that feel very strongly both ways.

I'm indifferent. I can see how they wanted to add something different but he's run his course. Time to move on and try something else. Orchestra??? That would be sweet for some songs.

I never imagined Boom in the studio. I think they were working on songs and said, "y'know, this song needs some organy shit. Anybody decent on the organ? No? Let's call that Boom guy." And then Boom pulled in an hourly wage.

I agree with those of you who prefer PJ w/out Boom. For some reason Riot Act is by far my least favorite album from PJ. Don't get me wrong I like the album but it was so much different than anything else they put out. I actually was listening to the 200 boots and personally thought they sounded so much more electric than the 2003 boots with the Organ. Just my opinion!

Gimme an organ solo for Leaving Here any day. I loved it.

But, there has been some sort of piano/keyboard/organ element on almost all of the albums, only on Riot Act, it was a new Hawaiin dude as opposed to Brendan O'Brien.

i gotta agree. leaving here sounded cool with the organ. and great point made about most of the PJ albums having some kind of piano stuff somewhere. is Boom necessary to play that? probably not. but i imagine the band has some kind of affinity for him. still, i just don't think its justifiable to have him on the tours. Crazy Mary was awesome the first time you got to see it live. but to do that again on the 2005 tour. its dated, IMO, and moreover, redundant. let the crazy cool performances of Crazy Mary be special and unique, instead of saturating a good portion of the 2003 boots.

that's the reason for the band's affinity for boom, its not that he can play an organ. anybody can do that 8)
