Hi guys, I’m looking for a HiRez image of Eddie from the yield era. It’s the black and white picture used on the back sleeve of the “into the wild” CD where Ed is on his knees while doing something weird with his hands.

I want it in HiRez as I want to make a big poster out of it.

didn't he just do this b/c it's similar to a scene in the movie?

This pic has been around longer than the movie. I don't know where it's from originally, but I remember seeing it years ago.

It's definately Yield era.

If I had to guess, I would place this at late 1997 or early 1998. Perhaps right around the time of the Rolling Stones shows on Oakland.

I am purely going on memory of how those guys, and Eddie in particular, looked at that point. And, of course, the fact that Jack is with them. Still, if I was a gambling man I would say the photos was taken even before Yield came out as part of the pre-album publicity efforts

hmmm... i had no idea... i've never seen it before...

isn't there a scene in the movie where mcandless is doing pretty much the same thing on a rock near a river?

It's a photo taken by Anton Corbijn, used for promoting Yield.

It's a certain type of surf pose. I knew the name, I'll see if i can recall it in a while

It was a part of a Yield publicity shoot and initially turned up as a cover on the Dutch magazine OOR in that year.

Always loved the shot and was so pleased it got resurrected for ITW.
