Don't know if this is posted elsewhere, but it's in today's paper (Irish Daily Star on Sunday). I think I remember Ed being at one of these rallies back in 2004. But this is download/DVD time. Feel free to move this to TSIS front news page if you like...
"Firebrand filmmaker Michael Moore will release his latest documentary exclusively on the internet fro free-hoping to inspire young people to vote in the US's November presidential election...
...Slacker Uprising documents Moore's 62-city tour of key swing states during the 2004 presidential election, when he tried to convince young non-voters to give voting a shot....
...Slacker Uprising will not be hitting cinemas and will instead be available as a low-cost DVD from October 7. However, before that it will become available as a free download to people living in the US and Canada on September 23 from the film's website http://www.slackeruprising.com. Along with Moore, Slacker Uprising features performances or appearances by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, comedienne Roseanne Barr, singer Joan Baez, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, REM, musician Steve Earle and actore Vigo Mortensen."
The DVD is up on the site as a pre-order. It's $10 US. You can't even pre-order an original DVD from the site from outside the US/Canada. I just tried. Cunts. Guess the movie makers don't need our money if it's coming from overseas.

A local paper had an AP article which indicated that the movie will be an entirely free download from the film's website on Sept. 23rd. I would see if you can get someone else to download for you in US/Canada and mail it overseas to you. You can save your 10 dollars to pay for overpriced gasoline.
I was hoping that Oliver Stone would insert PJ into the "W" movie. Flashbacks to Denver or the many occasions when the band broke out that god awful mask. Or even better, a ficitious scene with Ed and W engaging in an exercise of complete futility. A possible excerpt from the revised script:
EV: You realize that you have made a mockery of our great country, not to mention that you have bastardized an entire language in the process. You should be ashamed of yourself.
GWB: (Pause) Let me ask you this Mr. Vebber, have you ever tried to wrestle with an armadillo? The ones we have in Texas are some tough bastards! (breaks into brief chuckle) It reminds me of a saying we have back in Texas... You can get a good look at a T-bone steak by sticking your head up a butcher's ass... (long pause)... and then the Invisible Man said "I don't know about you, but my ass sure hurts" (breaks into blank stare)
(EV proceeds to pull out a Sharpie marker, and writes "you are an idiot" down his forearm. EV exits.)

I'll take that as a complement. I come up with some of my best material when I am sleep deprived. One of the benefits of fatherhood. At least that is what I have been assuming for the past year.
Oliver Stone should have brought in that guy from "Harold and Kumar Escape from Gitmo" to play W. His prosthetic looking face is enough to make anyone laugh.
Enough talk, it's time to break into the new Metallica!!!
(And yes I paid for the download. 8.99 will certainly not break the bank.)

The movie is now available for download, but I haven't had a chance to see it. I did see this clip on You Tube, however. Apologies if it's been posted already.
