What I mean by "current" is not your all-time favorite show. I mean the show that is currently in first-run on TV and that you can't wait until the next new episode each week. I may love The Simpsons, and think it's the greatest show of all time, but I haven't watched it consistently on Sunday nights for years.
My current favorites are Mad Men and Weeds. I'm looking forward to the return of Heroes this fall.
What's your fix?

I really need to check out Mad Men.

Lost, Heroes, Mad Men, House in no particular order. Brotherhood or The Tudors are ok... BSG is hit and miss now. I've downloaded all of Dexter having caught a couple of half episodes on UK tv, but I haven't got around to seat and do the marathon yet.
I'm not so hung up on comedies/light so I don't have to watch them the minute they're available on download (if they think I'm going to wait months or even years to watch something..besides I'm utterly incapable of sticking to a TV schedule.. even the UK shows I can't, kept on missing Dr Who or Torchwood or Spooks ..every time!).
but I follow: Pushing Daisies (I'm still mourning Dead Like Me ), Big Bang Theory, Aliens in America (not sure I'll last another season), Chuck (same), Reaper, Dr Who, Torchwood.
got into How I met your Mother and Rules of Engagement during the break so looking forward to see them 'live'
now the question is: What's to watch next season? (new shows I mean)

LOST by a mile. Behind that is The Office, 30 Rock, Dexter, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Pushing Daisies, Scrubs, The Daily Show, Late Night with Conan, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, and Boston Legal.
